Unit 216. My husband and I stayed for 9 blissful nights! The view is what we were here for. I love the patio overlooking the pool and the beach. I can literally walk around barefoot from the unit to the beach!!

My favorite:

Easy to control temperature Internet is reliable - we were working remotely. Water heats well and great pressure. I figured the trick is to turn on the jacuzzi tub faucet AND the shower at the same time - it’ll heat up quicker. Washing machine and dryer seems new and worked well. Quiet for the most part. Majestic view of the beach- sky- the Sun- the clouds- the birds … take me back.

Areas needing improvement: My number one concern is the sliding wood paneling for the bunk bed which I believe is designed with the kids in mind. Please double check this prior to allowing your children to get in and starts sliding those doors and it can literally fall onto their heads. It wasn’t secured at the bottom is just freely hanging and can easily disengaged. Host has been notified.

The door to the washing machine/dryer get stuck on the floor so you’ll need to use some muscles to pull/push it.

Always inquire if there are construction going on and to ask to double check for you. The host has no control over other units doing construction but he can find out. There was a construction during our stay but the host communicated it and they tried their very best not to make so much noise. We truly appreciate his effort.

Double check for cleanliness. I did find crumbs in the living room couch and some socks in the crevices - no big deal, I cleaned it up. Everywhere else was clean.

Sliding closet mirror was stuck. Host notified.

Maybe some curtain to separate the bathtub from the bedroom. I love my husband but sometimes I do want privacy. Good thing the tub is huge or else I’ll be splashing water everywhere 🤣 it just felt weird having that tub all open.

Keychain for the key?? I have anxiety that I’ll lose the key- so I attached it to my wallet. Bring your own keychain is my suggestion.

We didn’t use the oven. We only used the stovetop- there’s a crack on the left front so we never dare use that one. Every appliances seems to be working well. Use the 1hr setting if you’re using the dishwasher. Don’t use the normal mode- it will never stop washing.

Paint or maybe clean the vents on the ceiling. The one by the kitchen looks really dirty/stained.

Overall, I will definitely book again if given a chance. I do wish there’s more than 1 restroom - my husband and I were fighting...

Rented The Mayan Princess Condo #111 in Port Aransas, Texas May 15-20, 2022 thru "On Island Time Properties. First of all, the Condo Staff was extremely nice, helpful, and accommodating. The grounds are nice and the pools clean. The Condo was nicely redone after Hurricane Harvey, bed comfortable, room clean, well decorated, and stocked. Appliances also very nice.

The negatives that disallowed a higher rating from us are:

This room has a 20' wide X 8.33' tall glass picture window with a glass sliding door covered by cheap vinyl blinds that did not properly open nor close. Therefore, we had little to no privacy at all to the outside. This is especially bad because this condo is located directly in line with two pools and boardwalk to the beach. The blinds are dumpster food that should have been replaced. Obviously the rental management company nor the owner cares enough to replace them for the privacy of their guests. The high rental rates charged would easily pay for their replacement. I had to use all the spare blind slats left in the room to fill gaps. Also, had to hand force one side of the blinds closed to keep the gaps closed. Because they wouldn't draw open at the door location, we had to walk through the blinds almost tripping us at times.

The glass door was completely worn out as well. With the weather we had, the wind would howl through increasing humidity/salt/sand entering the room.

Missing floor tile at one door jam into the shower/toilet room.

Tile base board under the AC closet kept falling off the wall. Finally, I put chewing gum against it to hold the tile against the wall.

Unfinished patch in the toilet room where the toilet paper holder was relocated.

Toilet seat could use replacing.

Tile shower needs caulking at various seams.

AC filter needed replacing.

Three bar stools provided. One broken, other two had holes in the vinyl.

No hair blower as advertised. Condo staff kindly offered us one to use during our stay.

Eleven huge roaches showed up, and died in the room during our stay.

Bottom line, greed has taken over pride in ownership and property management. So, in today's world, don't believe all that you see nor read about rental property! You don't always get what you pay for, even at...

We came here on July 19th for our honeymoon and stayed in room 211. The location is good for the beach. But we felt like the price we paid wasn’t appropriate for what we received. We paid over $400 a night with two night minimum. The expectation is for that much you’d think the room would be impeccably clean and well maintained and all of the amenities would be working. However our room was worn down with numerous unprofessional looking repairs. There were stains on caulking and bottom of the jacuzzi tub, the tub had been resurfaced multiple times and was peeling. Faucet handles were repaired with wrong cartridge so handles weren’t straight and on the other side of the wall there was return air covers next to the toilet serving as access panels. Low pressure in shower. There was dust on bathroom shelves, the hot tub at the pool didn’t get hot. Other guests let us know when we tried to get in. Our room was 78 degrees when we entered and instructions for check out said we had to wash our own dishes, take out our trash and set thermostat back to 78. During our stay, water started dripping from ceiling onto our couch and on us and we contacted maintenance which offered to bring towels but did not have a solution, the whole hotel was having condensation problems. There were small puddles on couch and the ceiling had some warping from water on the wood. We were contacting maintenance for things but at a certain point stopped because we wanted to just enjoy our stay to the best of our ability. We didn’t even have a tub stopper when we came in and had to ask maintenance. Sadly when we left we went to a different hotel for half the price on the other side of town and it was twice as nice for half the price. The other hotel was over the moon when we said it was our honeymoon. The value is not here. I hope this review inspires the hotel to look into room 211 and make some much needed professional repairs...

We had a good time here. This place is centrally located, so if you want an outing you are typically 10 to 30 minutes to any of a number of destinations. This also puts you in a pretty quiet spot away from crowds. With full kitchens, you can hunker down and avoid the crowds. With one heated pool and a hot tub, you can still enjoy the water when the weather doesn't cooperate. They had charcoal grills around the pool, and a horseshoe pit. There was a ping pong table, but I'd love a pool table. They had a small indoor place for littles. I really liked the personality that the condo owner put into the condo (see the photos) I would give it 5 stars, but the amenities are a bit dated. Our room was really humid with only a single small vent fan, and there were some obvious things that needed repair, such as our sliding glass door and some stones around the pool. We'd definitely come back. I would suggest that you can save some money on the one bedroom with bunks, but unless it's a small family with littles or a girls or boys trip, I'd get at least a two bedroom. I had my teenage boy that wanted to stay up, which made it hard for the littles. I wanted to take him out on a night walk on the beach to see the sea life, but that would have woken everyone when we returned. I would also say this would've been awesome for a group trip.
