Man we can't say enough about this place!!! A "must stay here" type of a place! The pictures don't do it justice but we posted some anyway. What an incredibly peaceful place! My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary. We just wanted to get away from everything for a bit. The view from the cabin is incredible! It's actually supported high in the air by trees. The entire corner of the cabin is glass, so we woke up in the morning with a view overlooking a canyon of a gorgeous Texas hill country landscape. One morning, I woke up early, climbed the ladder to the upper deck, sat in total silence with my Bible, my guitar, and all of God's creation waking up all around me as the sun brought the forest to life. It was awesome!
We toured the property on foot and also rented the Berg, an electric assisted pedal car, to blaze the trails below our cabin. We laughed and cut up with each other as we pedaled along visiting the pond, the giant cottonwood tree, the waterfall, the Longhorn cattle, and the goats.
This is a true working ranch established by a beautiful couple, John and Kristin, who met us at our cabin at check-in with fresh flowers, and homemade banana nut bread.
We bought an autographed copy of Pastor Troy Brewer's book called "Look Up" that explains the vastness of the stars in God's great plan for us, that is clearly visible in the night sky at Grandview Treetops. They also have bee hives on the property and we bought a jar of fresh, unprocessed local honey, it's amazing!
They gave us a tour of the rest of the property and showed us the retreat center where they host couples for a day to reconnect and strengthen marriages. This whole place is a top notch facility run by incredible people!
If that isn't enough to make you want to stay here, the nearby surrounding towns are awesome too. My wife and I ventured out to the Olde Towne Country Store about 10 miles down the road and ate lunch at a Mennonite Bakery! Oh my goodness can these sweet people cook! Do yourself a favor and have lunch there when you visit. And if you're looking for something to do in the area there are lots of cool things to see in the neighboring towns (museums, antiques, beautiful old buildings, etc). Of course one of the best things you can do at your stay at Grandview Treetops is just stay put and rest! It's an awesome getaway full of peace, quiet, and reconnecting!
God definitely showed up and showed out and reminded us how HUGE he really is and how "loud" the voice of true peace can be, if we would just turn off the noise of the world, and crank up God's still quiet voice.
Obviously we highly...
Read moreI stayed here for a Valentine's Day staycation (coming in from Dallas area). The treehouse was beautiful and charming, and it's located on a working farm so you can definitely obtain that one-with-nature feeling. In fact, I’d recommend a sunset hike about the property. The attention-to-detail in the treehouse in keeping with the marine theme, was, in short, amazing! There are cool hidden surprises throughout, like treasure chests (with card games) and a like a hanging rope reading nook, for a couple of examples. The wood-lined custom shower was huge with steamy, hot water and pop-open windows, and bonus points for the heated towel racks. Inside, they have a mini fridge and we filled that up rather easily so you might bring an extra cooler for snack and cold drink storage. For coffee, a French press and a Keurig (that’s on the upper deck) are available and regardless of how you make yours, I’d recommend heading up top to take in the views with your morning cup. There is a small microwave in the treehouse and also a nice-sized grill that’s fully stocked on propane within very short walking distance.
Pro tip: if you want eggs and bacon for breakfast like we did, bring a cast iron pan and cook right on the grill! There are a couple of sets of silverware/dishware available for guest use. I also got to meet the host and the farm dogs, two gentle-giant, friendly fellows who came in close for some head scratches. The hosts were amazing, with excellent communication before, leading-up-to, and during our stay.
We’ll be back for sure. 5 ☆’s...
Read moreWonderful three-day stay at the Grandview Treetops!! Unplug and refresh. My boyfriend surprised us with a weekend getaway and we couldn't have had a more relaxing, cozy experience. Went first weekend of the new year! Played board games, brought the giant tripod binoculars for stargazing, and some good books to dive into. With just a microwave provided, and really no desire to drive to the next town for a solid meal, we made sure to pack an igloo full of microwavable goods and all the necessary condiments to make some decent meals, sammies, coffee, cheeses, wines, snacks etc. It really saved our trip, so highly recommended packing heavily with good grub options! Two bags of ice lasted three days in the cooler! Note the coffee maker is a Keurig and they do provide plenty of coffee pods for you. Honey is made on the farm, which is also available to use- YUM. As well as the amazing complimentary goat soap and lotion made right there at Utterly Devine farms!! What a nice treat! AND complimentary banana bread made locally?? What more could you ask for. One last thing to mention--- the shower is absolutely magical!! Highly recommended...
