I have been a member since 2005. We rented a king suite for 2 nights, using 40,000 of my points.
When we arrived in town, we asked the front desk if there was any way we could get a early check in, instead of 4 pm. This is VERY late. I was told by Rebekah at the front desk, that there was one other person getting an early check-in, whose room would be done by 1 pm, which was a half hour or so, and ours would be ready around 2 pm and they would call me. We went back to the hotel at 2:45 and Michelle was now there. She looked up our reservation, and was visibly unhappy that we had 2 free nights. She said the room was not ready yet and would call me. We left, and never heard from her. At 4 pm we went back and she “called” the maid. We were told us it was not ready. I was not feeling well and said “it is 4 pm. Check in time, please check again”. She called the maid again and said ” oh.. it is ready”
The room, #145 was very clean. The carpet look very good! It was a very nice room. It is a kitchenette. It has a full size refrigerator and a microwave. A few dishes, a toaster, can opener and a dish towel. Nothing else. Nothing to cook in or with, no paper towels, nothing to wash the dishes with, other then the little bottle of dish soap. We did not want to use 1 of the 2 washcloths from the bathroom. This was not what we thought we would be renting.
The next morning we went down to breakfast. It was about 8:30. The waffle / toast station was a mess. There was 2 packages of syrup. The person that made their waffle, just then, took both of them.
The bowl of fruit was 1 rotten apple that was mushy, and 5 brown, rotten oranges. I thew them all in the trash. It was insulting that they served these to people.
The Biscuits were beautiful. The pan next to it was milk and a little pepper. It was not gravy, there was no sausage in it. It was just milk and pepper. One of the other guests, ladled it in to a cereal bowl and ate it with his oatmeal. The was a large pile of very crispy bacon. People were taking 10 at a time because there was nothing else. The person doing the cooking finally came out, about 10 minutes later, when we were going to go out for breakfast, with the hot instant eggs, that the guest pounced on.
There was a few cream cheese packets, and hard butter for the toast. No vegan milk for the lactose intolerant to eat with the cereal. We had to use a ladle to get the cereal of it’s broken container. Sundays breakfast was overcooked sausages, potatoes cooked until they were croutons, and instant eggs, besides the everyday foods. I did find a muffin this time. My husband tried one of the sausages and we back to our room. We ate our left overs from the night before, instead.
To close the door to our room, we had to unlock it with the card from the outside, hold the handle down, then close it. The lock looked new, like it was replace incorrectly.
The tv only got a few channels, just 4 news channels and 4 sports, 2 Spanish and some channel with 20 year old shows. All the on demand worked, if you want to pay $20 a show, as did the ones...

Summary: Rude staff (numerous times), vandalized laundry room, constantly barking dog, AC not working in room, coffee not available upon check in, etc
Arrived early (2PM, normal check in at 4). Asked if it was OK to park my motorcycle under the entry area. Front desk staff (Dan) immediately responded "ABSOLUTELY NOT!". Could / should have been phrased better. Asked front desk staff (replacement, younger girl with lip piercing) if there was supposed to be coffee available (because it was empty). After a deep annoyed sigh she went off to make the coffee. Ten minutes later I went to check on the status, she was in the back sitting on a chair with her face buried in her phone. After realizing I was waiting, I asked about the coffee and was told it was brewing and would take an additional 10 minutes. Barking dog in room 252, front desk staff was aware and ironically any early check in options were near this room. No action taken to get the dog to stop barking. Not allowed to check in early to other rooms (away from the dog) because the cleaning staff wasn't done cleaning them. However walking around the hotel found the few hotel cleaning staff standing in the hallway talking. Laundry room was closed off because of previous vandalism. Sat in the lobby area until 3:40, finally given a room. Air conditioning in the room was non- operational. Called the front desk about the issue (another deep annoyed sigh), was told maintenance was not onsite and no other rooms would be available until 4-4:30 At 4:30, given I had not been given an update, went to the front desk, which was not staffed, waited, and when she finally arrived there was no acknowledgement of the wait, just another deep annoyed sigh and simply given another room. During this entire process there was not one instance of an apology for the inconvenience or the issues. we were made to feel like a bother for spending money to stay at this hotel.
On the upside the breakfast was quite good, and be sure to request one of the remodeled rooms as the non-rooms are in...
Read moreUPDATE: Housekeeping staff just came to service my room. Housekeeper was astounded that night time front desk staff treated me that way. She verified that there were stacks of towels that were available. I should have never had to pay to do the hotels laundry last night. While in the lobby waiting for my room to be serviced, I overheard another guest ask for extra towels and she also complained that the night staff said they were out and wouldn't give her any. The day time staff simply went into the next room and handed her towels. Just goes to show my point that if you need anything at night that you're on your own.
My wife had an allergic reaction and issue with a poison ivy flare up while here. She was taking lots of showers. This is a nice hotel with the worst night time front desk staff that a hotel can employ. Michelle the night time front desk attendant is specifically lazy and un-caring. We needed extra towels, all she said was they were out. Then she just smiled and shrigged her shoulders to me about anything else related to extea towels. Really? She said that housekeeping services will have to do a full service in our room the next day in order for us to get extra towels. If thats the case, then, THEY ALREADY HAVE EXTRA TOWELS that she could've given me but was too lazy to walk down the hall to get them. So I had to use the laundry machines in the hotel, pay for the washer and dryer, spend an hour to launder the hotels towels. When I told her thats what I was doing she gave me a box of detergent for free (normally $1) since I was doing the hotels laundry, and told me to have at it. Other guests stopped me in the hall after I was done in the guest laundromat, to ask for room directions because they thought I worked for the hotel while carrying my folded set of clean towels lol.
I called Choice Hotels 24hr customer service line who took down my complaint. Its now 24 hours later and we are back in the same situation with no response from the hotel management. So here's my review. Pro tip for staying at this property.......
