Big Spring B&B — Hotel in Craigsville

We were looking for a quiet rural retreat in the mountains to celebrate our 51st wedding anniversary, and we found a winner at Big Spring B&B. The farmhouse itself was very clean and inviting. The hosts stocked the kitchen with lots of snacks etc. and very generously provided us with a package of hamburger processed from their grass fed beef raised on the property. What a treat! Farm fresh free range eggs were also shared with us and were delicious. Every morning we would sit out on the front porch and enjoy coffee and the view of the mist covered mountains. We enjoy bird watching and the field across the road was filled with American gold finch in abundance. Barn swallows also kept us entertained. Big Spring B&B deserves 6 stars!!! If you’re looking for a quiet mountain getaway where you see countless stars at night and listen to birds chirping and cows mooing during the day, this is for you. My kids enjoyed the fresh mountain air and getting to experience the mountain-farm life although there was still wifi available for when they needed some time to unwind indoors. The B&B itself was very clean, comfortable, inviting and spacious for our family. Would definitely come back to escape the busy city life. Our Ladies Book Club group was blessed to be able to stay at this beautiful, country, clean, roomy, Airbnb this month. The leaves were just starting to change and we took advantage of the fire pit and stars at night. We had everything we needed and loved meeting the owners who were so kind. As a mom of 3, it was so refreshing to break away to be with some like-minded ladies in such a dreamy location. The spring really is big (see pic).
