We had multiple families traveling together. When we booked we requested to be close to each other. Upon arrival we were told they could not accomodate and showed us to our sites all fairly close with the exception of one tent site on the other side of the campground.
We expressed concern over our RV site stating that it did not work for our pullouts or our awning and requested to please be moved to a larger/wider site (we could see several open and becuse you can't book your site it would have been no issue moving us). Our site was very narrow. The first day they declined to even listen to what we needed. As larger sites sat empty we inquired again, this time the office staff was slightly more accomodating and took us to look at an open site. At first she offered us the site we were already in???, she then walked us down the row to offer us a different site only to be shocked that someone was already in it and there was someone equally as confused because they were just given that site as well. They have no idea what they have, who is coming and who is going. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights. We watched as other much smaller rigs utilized the "big rig" spots as we were squished in our narrow space. (camper vans,
Read moreThis KOA has is my favorite camp ground. Since they cut all the redwoods in the campground and changed ownership the park has went downhill fast! Let’s start with the cabin we stayed in the porch swing was to high and my 69 yr old mom went to sit on it and it flew out from underneath her . I even tried sitting on it and I’m 5’9 and my bottom couldn’t reach it. Next there was no smoke detector which has to be some kind of violation I would think. Convenience wise there was only one plug in and no table in between the beds.all other cabins I’ve stayed in had 2 plugs and a table beside beds.next let’s talk about the bathrooms the back bathrooms the toilet worked but no showers or when there were showers they said they had switch something on and off to keep Luke warm water flowing. Now to the front bathroom for two days one toilet was plugged with feces and toilet paper which made it overflow and ran into the second stall and the second stall toilet was plugged up for two days, so there was only one running toilet and a long line most of the time to use it most of the time and as for the showers There was no locks on any of the doors 2 showers had showerheads one shower did not have a showerhead. It just came out in a Solid stream.i didn’t shower for two days because of poop on the floor. Oh and toliet paper was out the first day and was reported along with the feces on floor the toilet paper was replaced so we know they seen the issues everyone was complaining about. There was no hand soap in the bathrooms. Soap containers were broken off the wall, paper towels, all over the floor. Then there the bum activity they have signs up about lock your stuff up like food bikes etc.. it’s a ongoing problem and they know about it so why don’t they have security someone you can call at least that’s onsite . I witnessed a bunch of children heading to the rest room while a bum slept on bench and would start screaming it was a very un safe situation for anyone’s children there ! Thankfully a father a (camper)took care of the situation ! This bum started screaming at 4:30 in the morning that he was on fire running around by the bathroom so my mom ran up there to check he was not on fire just screaming. My elderly mother should not have had to be the one checking on...
Read moreThe campground seemed to cater to mostly tent and cabin campers. The RV sites were very limited. Cost $48 with KOA Membership discount
Campsite: Campsite # C7 Campsite Level: yes, no leveling blocks were needed. Campsite Type: Pull through site with gravel pad and a strip of grass between sites that was quite muddy. We noticed we were tracking mud and grass clumps constantly. Some nice tall bushes on one side to provide privacy from neighbors facing the other direction. Full / Partial hookup: 50 & 30 Picnic table at our site: yes Grill: no Fire Ring: yes Wifi: listed but not usable by my phone. With our Wifi extender we were able to get 2.6 mgbs Down and 3.74 mgbs Up. Propane fill: yes Dump station: yes Amenities: Bathrooms: yes, but only at the office. The others were closed for the season. So if you are tent or cabin camping at the back of the park, you have to walk all the way to the front office to use a bathroom. Showers: yes or no Dumpster easily located: yes at the entrance and office Laundry: 2 washers working and 4 dryers working. $2.50 to wash and $1.00 to dry. Requires quarters and no change machine. Pool: no Playground: yes Other facilities: The meeting room/game room was dark and unappealing. But it did have several tables set up for puzzles, cards, or crafts and a small corner for kids play. Soccer, volleyball, horseshoes, and ironically bike rentals. They had a game room with several arcade games, ping pong, and foosball, but all required payment to play and there was no change machine on site. Dog friendly: Location and size of area: Medium-sized fenced dog park that was heavily used located on the other side of the field from the playground near the back of the park. Pick up bags and trash can stations: only at the dog park, none throughout the park Camp store: Small store with what appeared to be campground swag, but store was closed on arrival. We got here at 4:30 PM and it closes at 4 PM, but today closed at 3 and doesn’t open until 10. Camp staff interactions: None. The camp staff seemed non-existent. Additional info: I feel this is one of my saddest reviews because the campground itself is okay, but the lack of staffing and security make this feel like not a great place to stay. I would not recommend it until the security issues...
