We have been to this camp a few times now with our RV. This time, we had some visitors from "up north" and decided to stay in one of the efficiency cabins. The cabin was cozy and well kept. I have stayed at a lot of fish camps over the years and they are usually just for the guys who only need a bed. Even the girls were right at home in this cabin. It had a small kitchen and stove that we were able to cook dinner along with the camp grill just outside. The front porch was a nice place to hang out and enjoy the sound of the eagles and ospreys. This was definitely stars above the normal "0 star fish camp cabin". The price is also very good and they are pet friendly. We really like launching the boat on arrival and docking in the marina for the stay, although the boat ramp is a little tricky to get into (only have to do it twice). The marina has power for your battery chargers and the trailer parking area also has power. They also have a full tackle shop and live bait. This place very quiet and relaxing. The sunrises here are the highlight of the day. The great dock offers a good place to fish and set blue crab traps. It has a fish cleaning table for guest fishermen. Fishing on the lake is up and down since the hurricanes, but we still managed to get a few nice bass and a mess of blue crabs. There is boat access from Crescent Lake to the St. Johns River via Dunns Creek. This is about a 10 mile run. Overall, we will...
Read moreI have stayed at Crescent Fish Camp twice now (the first time for a couple of days). I can't believe there is still such a quiet, well run, place near a body of water in Florida! The staff are super awesome, helpful, and accommodating! The small cabins aren't really that small at all. A family of four could easily sleep comfortably, though I know they have other rentals available for larger groups. Exceptionally clean cabins! A small kitchenette, refrigerator, toaster and microwave ovens and dishware as well as a small grill and fire pit make serving up the days catch easy. A screened in porch with spectacular views of the marina both day and night. A pool is also provided for cooling off when not out on the water. They also provide small kayaks for exploring the lake. So many good things I could go on and on. The views! The clean and well stocked cabins and marina store! This peaceful , quiet, little getaway is good for the heart and for the soul, and a great excuse to go fishing! I know my family and I will...
Read moreCame to visit my family at the site, worker told me to come sign in as it was a liability to not have me registered, came in to the office to sign in. First greeting in office “are you going to pay your $15 or leave?” I said I did not know the rules and was still going to comply as it was their policy, continued to be berated in the office “I don’t know why you thought you could come in and use the pool.” The biggest argument I had against me was that I drove the wrong way down a loop, I honestly did not know as there are not signs other than a stop sign which you can see if you are going the “right way.” I apologized for this as well. Went to get my card to pay the fee and instead my brother in law went in for me and the workers continued to be rude to him when they had been nice prior. I’m not sure what the deal was but couldn’t stay due to the lack of professionalism I had experienced. Place overall seemed nice, wish management had...
