We are here in late April. The park is about 2/3 full. It is quiet, clean, no trash laying around and the road is a rough road with potholes but it keeps your speed down to 5 mph. You can do your personal redwood exploration right here in the park. There are many old growth stumps that act now as nurse stumps with new trees growing right out of them. I could not give 5 stars because of the dump station of site 89 (ours). The static level in the pipe was 12 inches below the top. When I hooked up and started to dump, the water immediately came back up and went all over the ground. I made a staff member named Joseph aware of it. He said he would look into kit. On leaving today, the static level has not dropped making me use the community dump station on the way out. I hope they fix this as it is a health hazard as well as not getting what you pay for in full hookups. But overall, I would stay here again.

I wanted to really love this place. I made my reservations 4 months ago for a couple night stay on our 5 week vacation and booked a premium site. Premium site was far from what we were given! There are a bunch of nice sites nestled in the trees, even some of the drive through premium sites looked to have quite a bit of privacy. Site 26 was far from premium or private. It is thrown in on top of another premium site and on top of the common area. Kids running and biking through our site constantly. We asked to move sites and even though I knew the answer since they said they were full, they weren't very eager to help or try and make me happy. They actually seemed irritated that I even asked to move. I can't say I would recommend this place or stay here again!

This was one of our favorite places that we stayed at on our coast line adventure. The trees were so beautiful. Spots had plenty of space between each site. Full hook ups for our small trailer. And they had a laundry facility!!! YES! We were in the middle of our trip and were just about out of clothes but ended up getting three loads washed. FYI nothing drys out here because of the humidity so this was key after playing in the Smith River all day. I only wished we would have stayed more than two nights. We stayed in site 085 and had this cool section of trees the kids played in right to the side of our site. Site 71, 72, and 73 all looked like they had great privacy and were grown in with beautiful trees. Highly recommend this place!!

I called in October to inquire about making reservations for December. I specifically inquired about the cell service for Verizon and the Wi-Fi, due to us most likely spending more time in the cabin relaxing (watching movies, playing our Nintendo Switch we were bringing, etc.) and some of our party needing to do some remote work. We were told the Wi-Fi was great and the cell service for Verizon was at least 3 bars in the whole park. We then decided to make reservations in December (23rd-30th). When we arrived, the staff were nice. I walked into the office to confirm I didn’t need anything else other than the envelope they left out of the office door. When we arrived into the cabin and got settled, the cabin reeked of propane to the point it almost made us ill. We constantly had to keep a few windows open the entire time we were there. We opened the envelope to read the materials inside they left us, and they informed us via written note that the cable was not working and that the Wi-Fi was not good except near the office (which was on the opposite side of the park of us). Also, our railing to the stairs (to get up and down the cabin) was rotted and disconnected from the stairs and almost took my mom down with it on Christmas Day. They did come fix it when we called the following day and did inform us to call the emergency number next time if something like this had happened, so that was on our part, but it just added to the problems that we encountered when staying there. The front right burner didn’t work on the stove and the right back burner only sometimes worked, so that certainly made cooking for our two families who were staying at the campground difficult. The bathtub faucet was barely hanging on by a thread (it was disconnected from the caulking), so you couldn’t take a bath; just a shower. Also, there were multiple dogs off leash around the park by long term residents, although there was a strict policy that was not allowed. One of the dogs came charging and barking at our dogs we had on leash and the guy yelled and cussed at it to come back to his RV; which it took a couple of tries for that to happen. The 27th, I called to discuss some of the issues we had since staying with the staff. She was nice and apologetic and said she would connect with the owner when she returned on the following Tuesday and that I would hear back. Well…I never did. That honestly just added fuel to the fire. I honestly wouldn’t have cared about the Wi-Fi or cable if it were summer, because the weather would be much nicer and it would’ve been lighter for longer out and we would’ve spent all of our time outside, but that’s the exact reason why I called and inquired. I felt lied to just so they could fill a spot in their campground because they clearly don’t get much business in the winter, so I was not happy about that. This place is certainly not the worst place I’ve been to, but I certainly won’t be returning or recommending. I did give them one star for their location and because the staff were nice and pleasant every time I did talk with them, but even that still doesn’t make up for the horrible...

This campground has potential based on the beautiful location among the Redwood trees. However, that’s about all it has going for it. Admittedly, my overall view may have been tainted by the first staff member we encountered. We arrived a little after 6:00pm and I went up to the office door, which was closed. The sign on it said office hours were whatever time they opened until 6:00. I didn’t try opening it (the place looked closed up to me), but did think it odd that there were no after-hours instructions. There was a campground map available, so I grabbed that and we proceeded to try to find our site. With poor signage, sites crammed in every which way, and not a whole lot of maneuvering room for our 31’ RV towing a car, we found this to be a very difficult task. As we were approaching the office area for the third(!) time, a male staff member ran toward us waving his arms. My husband rolled down the window and the man’s first words were accusing my husband of speeding in the park. First of all, my husband is the only person I know who regularly follows posted speed limits, especially in areas where kids/pets/pedestrians are around. But also, it doesn’t even make sense that he would be speeding as we were struggling to read site numbers to figure out where to go! Anyway, the man then asked what site we were looking for. He rudely said we needed to unhook our tow vehicle right there. He asked if we checked in and I said the office was closed. Apparently, it really wasn’t though, so I went to check in while my husband dealt with the rude guy and unhooked our vehicle. The lady I dealt with was nice, but she gave me completely different directions to our site than the guy gave my husband. Anyway, we finally got to our site (62) which was oddly placed on a one-way road that apparently wasn’t one-way, they just haven’t “changed the signs yet”. For what it’s worth, there was no reason for us to have unhooked our vehicle - the pull thru site was accessible enough for us to get in. Luckily, there was no one in site 65 though, as the end of our site (which we took the entire length of) crossed directly in front of that site so we were blocking it. There was a site that wasn’t really a site on the other side of us that was maybe housing a full time resident? As we were getting set up, we discovered that the sewer hook up was too far away for us to utilize it. Luckily, we were only staying one night so we just went without it. I hate paying more money for a certain type of site though and then not being able to use what I paid for. I can’t comment on the state of the amenities, as we didn’t use any. While we definitely hope to return to the Redwoods again someday, I can safely say we won’t be returning to...

Our site looked like they just made it, very small even for my small pop up tent trailer, there was little to no gravel in our site. I requested gravel be brought in since I noticed the Kubota driving with buckets of gravel and dropping off at other sites. Nothing was done, we had rain overnight that left 3"-4" of pooled water and mud in the entire site leaving our camp grass submerged. The the fire ring that had a nice fire going the night before now had more than 4" of water in it. The "Manager" as he boisterously claimed...aka Lee the Maintenance Supervisor is Completely Unprofessional, Rude, and Disrespectful, along with being Extremely Confrontational- Pointing his finger at adult's, women and men both, yelling, threatening us in front of a group of more than 6 other children. He then drove past our sites every 45 minutes or so, giving mean mug looks and attempted to continue to intimidate us. The morning of July 4th he again returned, stayed inside the vehicle and once again made Threats towards our group of campsites. After two and a half days of this, I went to the office to file a formal complaint, he drove as fast as possible to beat me to the office and attempted to lie to Becky about the situation. I requested contact information from whomever was the next inline above Becky- the manager. She tried to call them for me, however, July 4th weekend no one was available. Becky did give me the email address as well as a telephone number to call corporate. Between 3 campsites, we gathered 5 separate complaint forms because of this continued Harassment, Intimidation from Lee specifically. No other employees/ representatives treated us with such utter disrespect like Lee did. The night crew doesn't need to drive with all their lights on when patrolling, their headlights shined directly into campsites, along with the exhaust leak that disturbed and hindered our quality of sleep, rest and relaxation. The Campground is Not clearly marked nor laid out, navigating while searching for your site is tricky, especially at night, the sites are pretty much stacked on top of each other, leaving little to no privacy along with the sodium halide lights that illuminated the lucky sites- not the road that had them.

The positive was on-site bathrooms with hot showers, laundry, change machine and ice.

There'd have to be some serious changes to get me to come back. We camp often and enjoy getting away for our trips like this- planning months in advance. Because of this experience however, our friends who've stayed the previous 5 years during July 4th weekend will probably not return, along with us, and our other...
