The place is great, the view from the room is as advertised (really good). Although Deborah, the innkeeper is a good cook, the breakfast lacks variety. The worst is that when you come back after a long day, the room is undone and if you ask the innkeeper if she is supposed to make up the room, she is going tell you that she does not make it up in order to respect your privacy. If you insist and let her know that you expect your room to be made up, then you are going the get an attitude. So, forget the picture on the website, and take a look at the attached one to see how your $300 and change room will look when you came back. Bottom line: it's a great one-night stay, if you stay a second one, be ready do make up your own bed. As per the language barrier, you may have to hire a better educated innkeeper, since my wife, who spoke with her about the room arrangements, was born and raised in this country and holds a master degree.

I loved this place it was calm and quiet, and The location is right by the redwoods and the Ocean. 4 beautiful rooms, 4 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, lounge. Beautiful view of the ocean. Great restaurants nearby and activities.

Comfy and cozy. The folks that own this place live out of town; there is a live-in inn-keeper that welcomes you to house, helps you get situated, offers up some wine and makes a killer breakfast. Absolutely loved this place.

We stayed at the Agate Suite in the house across from Scopa at the Sea B& B. The Agate house had a nice full.size kitchen and 2 other suites on both sides of it with nothing but an interior door that was locked dividing them. Here's where the problem starts. The first night the ladies staying in the suite closet to the water were NOISY.....late into the night with their loud TV, cackling and very loud voices. It was also hot and the thermostats were not working to operate the A/C. The 2nd night a family with small children arrived late sometime after 9 pm and those kids made noise and slammed doors and wiggled the door handle of the adjoining door until almost midnight. Needless to say, your comfort is directly related to whoever is staying in the adjoining suites as there is literally no insulation or soundproofing between the units. The neighbors sound like they are in your unit. Some else mentioned the drapes in the living room. We found them adequate but a real pain as the windows run the entire length of the suite and they have to be manually ope Ed and closed and the grommets constantly got stuck on the rod.|But probably the biggest issue is the lack of cleanliness. We don't wear our shoes in our own house so we removed them in other peoples houses too. Our feet turned BLACK! LIKE GRIMY BLACK. The counters had food stuck to them and the shower was filled with mold in the grout. We called all these issues to the attention of management but were met with ambivalence and no one even responded. Hmmmm.....for $350 a night I would have expected better than a worn put place with loud neighbors and disgusting floors. I generously gave this a 3 as it has potential with different management and...

The “garden suite” room that we booked was literally a conversion of the garage , with a lockout door to the main house. It was very small, with a kitchenette, queen bed, desk, closet, and bathroom with shower only. The first negative was when we arrived, the lockbox code emailed to us did not open it, and we had to call the manager to come and open our room. She mentioned that several of the property lock boxes had been broken, so we thought ours should have been checked prior to our arrival. The next thing I noticed was there were NO instructions for operating the small wall television, and I couldn’t figure out the two remotes. I gave up. Next, we attempted to load and start the dishwasher the morning of our departure and it started and then stopped, giving an error code. Based on the acrid smell coming from inside, it was likely not working for awhile. The sliding door to patio we kept open to hear the ocean sounds, but could not open the other windows above the bed because of the smell of weed coming from across the parking lot where other guests were smoking on their front porch. We coerced there to be patio furniture in the large garden area, which would have been a place to sit with morning coffee or to eat, but there was only a tiny, rickety table with two chairs that looked like they’d break if sat on. We drank our coffee sitting in bed instead. We are disappointed with this stay since the description of the room and what we experienced were much different. For the nightly rate we paid, it was definitely not worth it for this...

Pebble suite||This can be a nice place to stay if you are willing to accept the negative points noted. Just make sure to get the price in writing before your stay.||Cons ||1- Price changed after checkout and was nearly twice the price quoted on the website. The owner doubled down on the higher price rather than try to discuss a compromise. For the record if she had compromised I would have been willing to split the difference. In the end she lost the whole contested amount.|2- This unit is not for someone with mobility impairment. To access the unit there are steps up the porch leading to a patio door as the only entrance. The bed is very high. Beach access is down a long and crumbling staircase without a railing.|4- In June the house just outside of the bedroom window was being renovated. Very loud construction work began early in the morning.|5- The toilet randomly blocked without solid material being left in the bowl. ||Pros||1- You can see a peek of the ocean on the other side of the main road if you are in the right place in the front room. When traffic and construction work dies down you can hear the ocean.|2- Good access to some beautiful day trips in the redwoods.|3- The manager was pleasant and responsive.|4- Dedicated free parking in front of the unit.|5- Comfortable mattress and sheets. Nice amenities in the shower....
