This place is on the way to nowhere. It's not a place you stop at because you happen to be driving past. But it's worth every mile you travel out of your way to visit. Once you arrive you'll wonder where you are. The outside gives no hint of what you'll find inside.

I shared a Club Sandwich on Croissant and a Strawberry Avocado Salad with my mom. Everything on the salad tasted like it was picked fresh that morning. A delicious spinach base with avocado, cashews, strawberries, dried cranberries, and grilled chicken with a flavorful dressing (I'm not usually a fan of honey mustard dressing but this was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy). And they were kind enough to split the salad on two plates! $6 each for this feast and worth every cent.

The croissant sandwich was piled high with turkey, bacon, tomato, avocado, and lettuce. I'm sure the sandwich stood 3-4" high. Served with chips. $10 and we split that between the two of us.

And then there was the cheesecake. The best buttery graham cracker crust, topped with cherry sauce. What's not to like?

The service was attentive without hovering. Although this was my first visit, the waitstaff made me feel like I was a regular.

I love the fact that Larry and Sara have sought out interesting and eclectic furnishings for their restaurant -- it dovetails perfectly with their farm-to-table philosophy.

Go meet the Bruces and enjoy their delectable food and genuine hospitality -- you'll be glad you...

Rented the fourth cabin on left. The "love shack". Omg. It was amazing. 200 bucks total. King size bed that i instantly fell asleep on. Wine glasses and snifters in room. Martini shaker. Large mini fridge. Harwood floors in living area/bedroom. Stylish decor in bathroom with very elegant tiles. Candles everywhere. Body wash and bubble bath provided for the two person soaker tub, with handheld body sprayer. Separate toilet with door. Did i mention the ginormous screened in hot tub with privacy curtains, and an overhead fan on the patio? The owners are really hands on. We had a problem getting the hot tub out of sleep mode. We ended up figuring it out online but the owner and her daughter were on the phone with us troubleshooting within minutes of reporting the issue. Bruce sprang for a delicious breakfast in the morning for the hassle. These are great people and have style, grace, and pride in their properties. A true gem. I will be back.

Side note. Get directions from owners. Google maps will send you down terrible roads that should only be...

OMG!! This place is a MUST if you're anywhere in the vicinity of Kennard, TX!! The Sunday Brunch (too numerous to mention, but here's a few: a salad bar loaded with wonderfully fresh salads with add-ons, deviled eggs, brisket, chicken spaghetti, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, purple hull peas with cornbread, and peach cobbler) is scrumptious, and if the food, alone, is not enough to get you there, then the live music should be!!

The owners walk about and greet their guests, and reservations are recommended. Be sure to visit their website (under "Contact Us") for directions.

Israel (I hope I spelled his name correctly) is a jewel!! He went above and beyond to bring us what we needed in the restaurant, then to help my elderly parents (even to the parking area to help load the wheelchair!!). The cooks did a bang up job, too!!

The band was out of this world, and the gospel music really moved my family. Very nice people!! We can't WAIT to go back for another...

We discovered LBG via the Texas Bucket List show. I am an avid backyard vegetable gardener and was happy to see their farm to table theme. Since then, we have made the journey several times for Sunday lunch/music over the last 18 months and really enjoy going. The buffet is very good, but I am still waiting to see some success with their vegetable gardens. You can do it! LOL. They serve the best carrot cake I've ever eaten. Sunday lunch offers a variety of southern country cooking on the table. Reminds me of childhood in East Texas. Hour and half drive; it's an event that consumes our day. We try to arrive at noon and definitely stay until the live music stops. Well worth the money and effort to get away from our normal restaurants. Easy to make a reservation a few days in advance; not necessary, but recommended, as it lets them plan for the event. Wish you continued success.
