Crowder Point Family Campground — Hotel in Crowder

Within five minutes of choosing a site (we hadn’t even gone back up to the office to pay), an off-leash pit bull came running from a neighboring site and attacked my dog (who was on a leash going potty). The dog’s caretaker came over, drink in hand, to offer the regular excuses…my daughters dog, usually on leash, etc. We saw no point in reasoning with her, the gentleman in the office was sick and not understanding our dilemma, so we hit the road for the hour and a half drive to Fort Smith Emergency Vet to have our dog cared for. The campground is nice. The lake is pretty. The man at the gate was delightful. That being said, there was trash and cigarette butts all over the campsite, there were no lights in the bathroom or shower, no soap at the sinks and no toilet paper.
