Fantastic location, amenities, views, prices...the list goes on! We stayed in the A-Frame (Paw Paw) cabin, with a lake view right off the porch. We came after the office closed, but the cabin was unlocked for us, with lights on, keys on the table as well as need to know numbers and suggested points of interest. We then took our 2 dogs on a stroll around the lake and through the woods on the Outer Loop trail.

Small town Crozet is barely 20 minutes away with wonderful small local shops to eat there or take back to the cabin. Canoes and bikes are plenty and available for the taking so you can leave yours at home! Only thing you should bring is a fishing rod. Only minor downside to the lake is it IS well stocked with fish, but also home to all other lake dwelling creatures, so if you're looking to swim, it's fine, but quite murky and has lots of lilypads. Wineries, vinyards, orchards, and farms in abundance to take in more of the landscape, and downtown Charlottesville is close enough that you can get your city fix without taking out an entire day of travel and experience.

Plenty of other cabins as well as a lodge for weddings and other parties. Shared bon fire space as well with wood, matches, and newspaper to get a blaze going.

The Paw Paw was BEAUTIFULLY furnished with 2 hotel sized mini fridges, a full size freezer, small TV with DVD player, 4 range stove top and oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven, all manner of cooking ware and utensils, games, books, wifi. Loft area has two twin beds, main floor has a bedroom with a queen bed, living/kitchen space with a table and futon, bathroom has a tub/shower and nice full sized sink for everyone toiletries. First aid kit in the bathroom vanity if needed!

Such a relaxing retreat. Will most certainly be back and hope to make it a...

Montfair was the second venue we toured and we knew fairly quickly that it was a great fit for us. We wanted a venue that brought in nature but wasn't fully outside, and also wasn't fully "rustic" (just not our vibe). Montfair fit that bill beautifully -- we loved having the option to have our ceremony in the field surrounded by the fall colors, or down by the lake. We opted for the field, but also made use of the lake space by utilizing their bonfire. Our guests also loved the venue for its beauty, space, and the bonfire too. The inside of the event lodge (where we had our reception) can be decorated in so many ways, it's a very versatile space and ended up being exactly what we were looking for. Our wedding was around 60 guests, so we had lots of options (the field, the lake, the lodge, and the large tented decks). Highly recommend this venue! (There are also on site accommodations, including a house we were able to use to get ready in. This is a huge plus for those who wish to get ready on site and who might have family coming in from out of town! It was super convenient for us!) Victoria and Lisa were very accommodating during our entire wedding planning process, and we appreciate their responsiveness and...

Our family of 5 stayed in Butternut Cottage, which was a little small- but otherwise perfect for us. We have a 5yro and twin 3yros. The sink and toilet in the bathroom were low enough that they could reach without a stool, but not at an uncomfortable height for adults. There was only a shower, so for families that need a tub that could be an issue. We also liked how Butternut Cottage was more isolated away from the other cabins, which is great again if you have kids, or want privacy. There's a great view of the lake from the cabin- and a trail that leads you down to it. There was no fire pit, but the charcoal grill that was there worked just fine to roast marshmallows (and there's picnic table as well). Impressed by all the small detail items provided, plenty of extra blankets and towels, air freshener in the bathroom, a first aid kit, standard toiletries... while the cabin is a bit dated, but considering the price- not an issue at all. Butternut didn't have a tv, but did have plenty of games which we loved. We loved the beautiful gas heat fixture- but those with small kids may want to bring a gate to fence that area off. Overall we loved it and are planning to go back!...

We had our wedding at Montfair and we also rented out all the cabins and stayed there along with our bridal party, families, and guests. We absolutely loved everything about our wedding at Montfair. From our initial communication with Victoria (the event manager) all the way to the multiple visits we had, final walkthrough, and our wedding weekend everything was great. They communicated with us really well. Cabins were nice, and the Beauchamp House was such a delight to get ready in. But most importantly, that amazing view! Despite the rain on our wedding day, all guests commented about the amazing mountain views and how the lodge was so sweet and cozy. We would absolutely choose Montfair Resort Farm any day.

We went just after Labor Day and before Leaf Peeping Season. So, we had an excellent rate, and could not have asked for a nicer upscale-rustic cabin. Even the baseboards are clean! 😄 Lisa, the manager is very kind and professional. One couldn't ask for an easier check-in / check-out experience. Everything is very well spelled-out as far as how to use the heat or a/c, appliances, lake equipment, etc. There's no guesswork or chance of making an unintentional mistake. Also, there's a big notebook full of things to do in the area, and a closet that's well-stocked with games in case someone wants something to do on a slower day. These folks really have guest comfort, convenience, and questions covered! ✨️
