The Gardens at Waterperry Farm — Hotel in Crozet

The folks with Stay Charleston were very unhelpful when first my fiancée reached out about both renting one of the houses as well as a request to do an elopement with no guests. Nowhere does the website state that you cannot reserve the carriage house without reserving the farmhouse too. In fact it includes an option to requeat availability for the carriage house alone on that specific web page. We were also a little surprised, as an upscale booking service they didn't suggest other options to stay that might have met our needs.

Then we were also curtly told that the venue wasn't holding any events. While disappointed we totally understood this in COVID times. However, we now see photos online of the exact same two person elopement we requested being done on site. Not sure if we were given misinformation or what but given the overall experience, we will avoid booking any venue that is through Stay...

The Gardens at Waterperry Farm is a magnificent place. The day that we toured, we knew that this was our venue! It was hands-down the best place that we could’ve possibly chosen to hold our elopement ceremony and photo session at. The owner, Katherine Kane, and her assistant, Janet Dob, were very kind and accommodating to our needs. The pricing is not only reasonable but adds to the appeal of this extraordinary place. It’s truly a hidden gem and boasts a stunning and well-maintained property all year long. Featuring a beautiful garden, greenhouse, pond, waterfalls, and rolling hills, the diversity of landscapes created a magical atmosphere, making it feel like we explored five different locations in one venue. I don’t think that we could’ve found a place that was better suited for our needs. It was everything we could’ve hoped for....

We were lucky enough to have our small wedding ceremony (truly, 8 guests) in the gardens at Waterperry Farm and cannot imagine a more beautiful place to be married. Janet was very responsive and accommodating in answering our questions and scheduling a tour of the grounds. Katherine (the owner) was present on the day of our wedding and was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend visiting these gardens (especially if you're considering it for engagement/wedding photos)!
