I loved this campground! Much cheaper and more hidden away, just off the North Shore past Palisade for all you road trippers 😉 right next to a creek and semi far from the highway so it's quiet. Outhouses but no showers and there is a drinkable water faucet in case you run out of water bottles! Fire pit with grill station attached and not too many bugs! Cash or check (no cards) of $14/day (MUCH cheaper than the tourist spots) and not too well known so there are usually a couple spots open.. do not call ahead and make a reservation because sites are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. If you make a reservation, you're being duped hah.

Typical State Forest Campground not much space even though there is a lot of space available. Self service/first come first serve full friday 4pm in season. There is a Well but takes a while to fill rv. Dump station by scenic overlook in Silverbay which is closest Grocery. Best firewood towards Finland on right side $5/armload. Not patrolled and if campground host gone bring ear plugs too. Dumpsters very back/last loop. A rocky shallow river runs around 1/2 of it ...

This is one of the best Campgrounds off the beaten path! I love this place & keep coming back. The sites are fantastic they have a firepit, picnic table, parking, spot to set up your tent, the only running water is the Baptism River & the fresh spring water pump to get good cold drinking water from, there are a few out houses. It's a first come first serve basis. If you're looking for a tenting slightly roughing it experience, Eckbeck is your place.

Camped here with our truck camper. There are many sites that will fit a larger camper. I would feel comfortable pulling our 29' 5th wheel through here to get a site. I may have to park the truck in the overflow lot. Of course as long as one is available. This is a first come first serve campground. We are here on a Thursday 9-30-21 and there are plenty of sites open.i imagine they will start to fill Friday afternoon. No electricity, there is a hand pump for water. And two separate vault toilet areas. It appears all of the outside camp sites have access to the Baptisim River, with some being right on the river. Most of the sites will accommodate multiple tents or even a...

Good rustic camping. No amenities (electricity, water, sewer, showers, etc.). Only hand pump well water and pit toilets. This place fills up fast with overflow from Tettegouche State Park. This place is first come, first available. No reservations. Come on a weekday (Monday thru Thursday) to get a good spot. The only negative was the pit toilets. Lots and lots of flies and they smell terrible. That's somewhat to be expected of a pit toilet though. Picture is...
