Maple Grove Lodging — Hotel in Crystal Bay Township

This is one of the cleanest motels we have ever stayed in anywhere or at any price. Everything was spotless and the decor is attractive. These folks have done a very nice job of renovating an old motel.||The location is convenient for the sightseeing that we were there for, but there are lots of trails close by for folks with ATVs. For hikers, the Superior Hiking Trail is about 5 miles away. And tiny Finland, MN even has a few restaurants although we were enjoying all our meals with family members who were camping nearby so we didn’t get to try any of the local eating spots.||The motel is located close to the Finland Cooperative General Store, an old-timey style store that is stocked with everything you will need for groceries, fresh produce, bakery items, camping & fishing supplies, souvenirs, car repair, a gas station, etc, and there was no price gouging.||We spent 4 nights at the motel and went to Tettegouche State Park, Lutsen Mountain, Grand Marais, and several other parks and attractions in the area.||After we returned home, I f discovered that I forgot an item in the motel, so I texted the owners and my item was delivered 2 days later.||We highly recommend Maple...

I recently stayed at Maple Grove, August 31 -Sept 6. Booking was a breeze, check-in equally painless. Upon arrival I found the grounds well maintained and clean free of litter and debri. Check in with Kelly was quick and easy. As I entered my room was immediately impressed by the pleasant aroma of a fresh clean room. My room was tastefully appointed and very comfortable for my weeks stay. Bed linens,towels and bathroom all updated and clean!! My interactions with property managers Kelly & Jamie were pleasant and found them to be friendly and attentive to my needs. The owner(s) of this property are fortunate to have them managing Maple Grove Lodging. When I return to Finland MN I will not hesitate to rebook at Maple Grove. I also recommend the "Four Seasons" bar & grill, within walking distance, pizzas are awesome and the handmade burgers and fresh cut fries are terrific. Breakfast at "Our Place" is also a must! This is a cute little motel. I was so happy to come across is while searching for a last minute room. It’s a quiet area, not a lot around especially for kids. The only reason I took a star off is because there’s so much more that could be offered given the space available. The room sleeps 4, the table only holds 2. There’s plenty of space for a mini kitchenette, which would allow people to make food. The only close restaurant is a bar, but my one kid is gluten free. I have to be prepared with her food. That’s a me problem though. At any rate, we stay at a motel about 30min from this one usually, that is a bit cheaper, closer to stuff, and has a full range of kitchen things to make food. There’s also a playground there, and puzzles and stuff for kids to do in bad weather times. Over all, it’s a cute motel that would be great with just an adults trip. If you have kids you might be better off somewhere different. We’d stay here again, I’d just be better prepared with outdoor fun stuff...
