Stayed for Thanksgiving week from Wed to Sunday in Family room/cottage. Here are my reasons for 3 stars:||Property ground 4 stars|Food 2 stars|Staff 4 stars|Value 2 stars|Property ground 1 stars (read more below)|Overall 3 stars||Property ground|Well landscaped, remote location, plenty of parking, pool area looked pleasant.|However, you could not use any of the amenity area due to mosquitoes. Place is beyond tolerable with mosquitoes. Couldn’t stay outside for a minute before getting eaten alive. This very thing simply ruined our vacation. This unfortunately was true for the entire Culebra, some locations were better then others but overall this was simply bad…really bad.||Food|Breakfast was included but nothing good. Been to other Latin area/county and had some of best “local” breakfast. Here they try to mimic American breakfasts but miss the mark. |Bar was fine but again couldn’t enjoy drinks due to mosquitoes.||Staff|They were tentative and always pleasant. lady that we interacted most with didn’t speak English well so we had some communication issue but got through. ||Value|Paid over $400 per night for family of 4 to stay in family room. It is their higher priced room. So, i figured it will be situated/views/etc accordingly. Nope. It is arguably the worst positioned room with absolutely no view. We had view of parking and roof of main building. When we checked in, one of room A/C didn’t work, it took little but they were able to make it work. No hot shower. Water wasn’t cold but no hot water. We managed.||We’ve chartered fishing boat, rented car for entire stay, did beaches, eat at most of restaurants, did shopping, did diving (highly recommend Culebra divers)…spent good money for our Thanksgiving and place is beautiful, however, unless they fix the mosquitoes problem we will never come back. By far this was the worst experience and hate that this hotel is getting this review but it is impossible to have fun when you look like you...

itle of the Review: Unfair Experience with Cancellation and Refund

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Review:

My recent experience with the cancellation and refund process at Club Seaborne Hotel in Culebras was deeply disappointing. I had made a reservation for a stay in July 2023 with great anticipation, but due to an electrical issue in the villa I was assigned, the management had to cancel my reservation.

What truly bothered me was the lack of transparency in the cancellation process and how the refund was handled. According to the hotel’s policy, I understand that there is typically a 20% deposit charge in case of cancellation. However, in this case, it was not me who initiated the cancellation but rather the hotel informing me that my reservation would not be possible due to an internal problem.

I was offered the option to change the dates of my reservation at no additional cost, which I appreciate, but unfortunately, after consulting with my family, we couldn’t find a suitable alternative date. I opted to request a full refund of the reservation amount since the cancellation was not by my choice and there was no viable alternative date to reschedule the trip.

However, so far, I have only been partially refunded, which I consider unfair. Despite my multiple communications and requests, I have not received a satisfactory response or an adequate solution from the manager, who seems to overlook the injustice of the situation.

It is disheartening to encounter obstacles and a lack of commitment from the hotel regarding the refund of my money. As a customer, I expected fair treatment and a timely resolution.

In summary, my experience with the cancellation and refund process at Seabourne Hotel has been frustrating and unfavorable. I cannot recommend this establishment based on my personal experience. I hope the hotel reviews and improves its cancellation and refund policies, as well as their approach to handling adverse...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we really liked it. Carlos was great and we enjoyed talking to him at breakfast every day. The rooms were clean and the area was very peaceful. A few things to note about the hotel and the current situation on the island:

Location/Travel: This hotel isn't in walking distance to anything. You will definitely need to rent a jeep or golf cart (no Uber either). Regardless of where you stay, you'll likely need a rental. We used Jerry's Jeep Rental to rent a golf cart (which we resevred ahead by phone) which was fine. It was fun riding around the island on a golf cart. We decided last minute to switch from taking the ferry to flying. We talked to others who used the ferry and they had no issues but weren't willing to risk it. The flight over and back was an awesome experience in itself with beautiful views.

Check in, Ammenities and Food: My only complaint was inconsistent messages by the hotel. I was told we needed vaccines and a negative covid test but we only needed vaccine cards (not a bad thing but stressful worrying about the additonal test). The pool was nice and although we didn't use it, they do offer pick up and drop off from the ferry and/or airport. Breakfast was included with a limited menu from 8am-930am and it was pretty good. The hotel has no restaurant and a bar that seems to open intermittently (it was randomly open one day during our stay). Please note that restaurants are EXTREMELY INCONSISTENT on the Island. We had to eat pizza twice since it was the only thing that was open. Even grocery stores opened and closed when they wanted Be prepared for this. Lastly, to dine in anywhere in Culebra and the main island (Puerto Rico) you will need your vaccine card and likely an ID.

Finally, you MUST go to Flamenco beach. It's $5 to park and $2 per person. The facilities are hit and miss if they are open during construction, but it's the most...

A local gem on Culebra, with a main building housing the breakfast area, offices, outdoor bar, and beautiful swimming pool. Rooms are in separate rustic but extremely well maintained buildings, two suites in each. The suite we stayed in had a gorgeous view of the bay in the distance out the large double-wide glass sliding doors. The room had a laid back beach feel, all white with a high ceiling and vey comfortable queen bed, and large living area with sofa and easy chairs. Air conditioning was much appreciated, plus a ceiling fan, a room safe, and a small refrigerator all a nice plus. A few down-sides: the villa is 1.5 miles out of town and I would not recommend walking due to the narrow and winding country road; taxis are available for $10 per person but easier to get from the town center to the villa, and not the reverse (they don’t seem to like to pick up folks remotely); transportation to any of Culebra’s stunning beaches is best done via Jeep rental ($80-90/day); and the hotel bar is only open Wednesday-Sunday (although the manager was kind enough to pour us a few glasses of wine). Ideal for a week or more stay, and spending some relaxing time at the beautiful estate with its wonderful grounds, many sitting/chilling areas, hammocks, available bicycles, and super nice pool! Possibly the best hotel/villa in Culebra (and priced accordingly.... we paid $185/night).

Small hotel, small family hotel. Breakfast is included, which is great because it is not easy finding places to eat in Culebra. It is also very delicious. The service is excellent! Everyone is super nice, extremely nice and welcoming. They even suggest places to eat, drink, beaches, places to visit. They have a bar that is opened during the night. The pool is not the best one in the world, but it is nice to have a pool after being in the beach all day. It is very near a small beach. They provide 1 free hour of kayak usage. We had two rooms. They were nice. In the process of being remodeled. The only bad thing about this hotel and it is a big problem they have is the cleaning of the rooms. They are always dirty, even the showers. Even though they are very dirty, everything else was good and it merits 5 stars.

Amazing place to stay in Culebra. Upon our arrival the manager greeted us and assisted us in all possible ways. We got a Deluxe Villa with garden view that was breathless. Clean, cozy and a bottle of champagne was waiting in the room. The swimming pool was refreshing. They also have hammocks that we enjoyed and where we relaxed! For friend and family gatherings the hotel has a a fire pit that is great for conversations all night long. The staff is courteous and makes you feel at home. In the evening we went to the bar near the deck and swimming pool. They offered us a great variety of drinks and light appetizers. We met other guests there and had a blast. Highly recommended!!!
