Motel 6 Culpeper, VA — Hotel in Culpeper

Booked a room via hotels.com for a Friday night mid-October. Got there around 7:30pm and check-in was quick and easy. Got a room on the second floor, and had to take the stairs. Easy to find a parking spot very close to my room and to the stairs. For a hundred bucks, I expected better. There was no breakfast, just hot coffee which was put out at 7am. My room was spacious with 2 beds, which let me spread my stuff out and prepare my hiking pack for Shenandoah the next day. There were definitely bugs in the room, and they started bothering me when I went to sleep. Went down to the check-in area and asked if I could move to another room. The hotel owner came by with a vacuum and sucked up all the bugs he could find. After that, I didn't have any issues all night. The building definitely feels old with a few cracks here and there. Needed to be close to Shenandoah so I could get there early Saturday morning before the parking lot at Whiteoak Boundary filled up, so kinda had to pick something in Culpeper, otherwise wouldn't have gone for this hotel. This place by far is the best in Culpeper Va hands down! They are the nicest and most understanding people I have ever met in this line of work. They really go above and beyond. Even the housekeeping are so nice and do such a great job. It’s always nice to see one of the employees in passing they are always smiling and can always get a good conversation going! You can tell the owners and employees take pride in this place and do a wonderful job keeping the property clean and unlike some of the other places in town they don’t have any suspicious activity going on definitely a save place for you and your love ones including pets!! We stayed for 1 night which ran us 122 dollars which isn't a bad price but the place made me feel icky. There were cracks all in the ceiling, the light switches and outlets looked dirty, there were stink bugs everywhere I even woke up in the night to one crawling on my leg under the blankets, there was also a large gap under the door. I was a little upset there was no couch or sitting area other than 1 plastic chair and an office chair. Staff was friendly/professional and it was quiet. The AC/Heat worked well.
