My wife booked 2 nights here because she knew I wanted to fish the "hooch", otherwise the options were limited. That's the only reason to be here. I left my wife here for the day hoping she would have something to keep her busy. Thankfully the wifi was good so she worked on booking a couple more locations for us on our loop of the south in the camper. The campground is mostly full of long termers, who as we travelers notice, aren't too friendly towards us. We were put next to the sewage dump so all the live-in campers would dump frequently all day. Needless to say, not the best smelling place to spend a day! The thing I didn't like was there is no bathroom or showers. For $50 a night you shouldn't just make everyone use the resources in their campers and ignore some campers needs. We have a wet bath in the camper but can generally take a shower at EVERY other campground we've stayed at for the past 2 years.Dont use the toilet for #2 but had no choice here. Was glad it was for 2 nights only as I was getting a little gamey after not showering for a couple of days. I guess if you're looking for cheap long term stays and have a large rig, then fine . Anybody wanting to stay in a campground and actually camp, stay away. No fire rings either so can't do that. It's up to you why you'd be here. So far in our drive, least favorite place we stopped. When we got to leave was the only time...
Read moreI just stayed at this campground for a week. My 2 problems with this campground are. The owner did not tell me they have high water pressure. I hooked everything up and I left the site to go visit family. When I returned later that evening I found water leaking out from under my kitchen cabinets. Causing water damage. My camper is new a 2016 and I have used it 40 times over the last year that I have owned it. I never had water leak out until I stayed at this campground. My other issue is they have Roaches I noticed a couple in my camper. Then when I took up the jacks and picked the wood up the day I was checking out there were so many under the wood. Then I noticed everything else I had outside had roaches on it. I even just found 4 more roaches today on my bike rack that I was just about to put back in my basement. Yuck!!!!! After I told the owners of my 2 problems they told me I was the first to complain about them. So I am just posting this as a warning for other campers since they will most definitely not tell you about these problems. I will never stay at this campground again. Update 9-18-17 I am still finding roaches in my camper and in my house now I never had roaches until I stayed at twin lakes. So aggravated by this!!! I wish I never stayed at this campground!!! They should be paying my exterminating...
Read moreDecent place to park an RV for a while. Well maintained gravel sites, good location if you need to be near Atlanta. Rates are high for what you get though. There are no restrooms, showers, or laundry. The flier says there is laundry a couple miles down the road. I've stayed here twice, but I won't be coming by again. They have a rule against any trailer that's not a camper. I have a truck camper and tow an enclosed trailer that I use as an office/workshop/battery bank for the camper. (It just looks like a clean, white box with solar panels from the outside.) They told me I could not have it at my site and would have to drop it by the house on the property. I have no idea why that's better than keeping it attached and at my site. It's not even a tucked away spot. In fact, it's a great display spot to show my trailer off to all the people staying in the waterfront spaces. I did do exactly that on my last stay, but that was on my way back from buying the trailer and it was empty at the time, so I didn't mind not having it at the site. Still, it was a unnecessary hassle. Now, the trailer is an integrated part of my rig and I don't want to be without it. Instead, this time, I'll be staying at a nearby public park in a waterfront spot on Lake Lanier for...
