This place is beautiful and full of amenities! Luxury living with a scenic view. The owners spared no expense when it comes to comfort and design. Not to mention, they are also really nice as we had a chance to meet them during our stay. We enjoyed seeing the deer, geese, and ducks daily by the creek behind the cabin. Great for families or couples. There is more to come as the RV area is under construction with some spots available. It is close to Mount Rushmore, Lake Sylvan, and Custer National State Park, as well as downtown Custer, where you will find restaurants, shopping, and a grocery store. I highly recommend staying at the Bearded Buffalo, and don't forget to take a selfie with Bo! We look forward to bringing our family out for a...

Shady business practices. This business seeks volunteers to work in their campground. For FREE. The positions available include: housekeeping, store attendant, and barista. It is absolutely absurd that in 2025 for profit businesses are able able to have the lions share of the work required to run a resort done by volunteers. I don't shop at Wal-Mart because they don't treat or pay their employees well. I don't do business with companies that don't treat their employees well. This is not a non profit. There is no reason they have to use volunteers to run their campground. I will not be paying to stay there knowing that the people who clean my room and make my coffee are not being properly compensated for the...

We had an excellent week-long vacation in July with family renting two houses. Simply, we strongly recommend it. First, the very new homes have excellent quality with two levels of huge space and great AC and heat with large eating area. Second the outside patio and fire pit were fantastic for entertainment

Third the location is so convenient as couple miles into Custer Park and less than a mile into town. It was nothing to get groceries, great restaurant food or rent Polaris ATV. Finally, the owners of Bearded Buffalo were so professional and friendly to work with. They answered our questions, showed us the home amenities and cared about our experience. We recommend and plan in future years...

Quiet Comfort Near the Parks We stayed one night at Bearded Buffalo Resort (June 15–16) with our 33-ft 5th wheel in a back-in, full hookup site. The gravel pad was level and easy to navigate, making for a smooth setup. The shower house was clean and well-maintained, and the whole property had a peaceful, quiet vibe that made for a restful evening. The staff—and especially the owners—were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great suggestions for local activities. You can’t beat the location: it’s just a short drive to Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park, and Mount Rushmore. We’d absolutely stay again when passing through the area. Highly recommend this spot for fellow travelers!
