This is a candid review of our recent stay in Cabin #9 during the month of April, 2025. My daughter, her family, and I—a total of five people—spent two nights there.

While we enjoyed certain aspects of the cabin, such as the spacious jacuzzi and the variety of streaming services available on the large television, several issues detracted from our overall experience. The most significant problem was an unusual odor in the kitchen upon arrival. Though maintenance staff responded promptly and attempted to resolve the issue with cleaning solutions, the underlying cause remained unidentified. This is concerning, and I hope you'll investigate further to prevent similar situations for future guests.

Furthermore, the provision of amenities was severely lacking. Receiving only single-ounce bottles of shampoo and conditioner for five guests was truly inadequate. We were also surprised to find no Kleenex provided, a basic amenity expected in most accommodations. These omissions forced us to make an unnecessary trip into town to purchase these essential items.

The kitchen itself presented further challenges. The lack of a griddle proved inconvenient, necessitating the use of a damaged skillet. The presence of only one, and that a dirty, oven mitt, was also a hygiene concern. Minor details, perhaps, but indicative of a lack of attention to detail.

Finally, the larger bedroom's design needs improvement. The absence of a barn door to conceal the washer/dryer within the closet compromised the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the space. Additionally, the awkward positioning of the television—requiring us to watch from the dining table rather than the sofa—is an ergonomic oversight.

I understand that these are minor inconveniences in the grand scheme of things, however, for the price point of your resort, a higher standard of provision and attention to detail is expected. I sincerely hope these comments will be considered constructive criticism and contribute to improving the guest experience in Cabin #9 and...

We recently rented Cabin 2 for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy and seemed to recently have gotten a facelift. The deck and view of the Needles was the best part. My family and I enjoyed spending evenings on the deck watching the deer come to graze, and the pond reflecting the setting sun. Bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill and firewood for the fire pit. (The pit needs to be dug out a bit and maybe a trash can for old charcoals.) The hosts were friendly and responsive. Finally, our family dog and I enjoyed our morning walks up the hill and to the right on Rocky Road. Lovely spot!

so much fun!! they have a small pond for fishing, pygmy goats you can feed, 2 friendly cats that love to be pet, and the cabin was great! we got cabin 4, nice double bed and pull out couch. all wooden interior was beautiful, full kitchen with charcoal grill, owners provided towels, soap, linen, etc. will definitely stay here again next time I am in the Black Hills! super close (5 min) to Custer state park, an hour from deadwood.
