I stayed all summer with my two quarter horse geldings. Hauled out to other trails, Galena, Hells Canyon, French Creek, Mystic Michelson trail,(had supper at Moonshine Grill in Rochford) several parts of Centennial Trail through Black Elk Wilderness, Lakota Lake via Mt. Rushmore, and many more. This is absolutely the best place to stay if you love camping with horses and riding a lot!! Campers are not on top of each other, the horse facilities are great. There is showers and laundry available. All things one needs, groceries, pharmacy, medical facilities, are conveniently available in Custer. A great farrier is readily available. Everything is convenient and quiet. They even have a shelter where everyone can sit around a campfire without burning down the Black Hills. I am definitely coming...
