This was our first visit to Dahlonega so we had absolutely no idea what to expect. We moved to GA from CA and have best friends who live in Sonoma on a large vineyard, so we have a lot of wine country experience. We were primarily just looking for a little weekend adventure to see what this "wine country" down here in GA is all about. We are used to very high end boutique hotels so I am sharing this review as someone who really enjoys a great property and can see when a location is truly getting it done right.||I have to say that this resort was a very pleasant surprise! We loved the fact that they use E-check in so we knew exactly when our cabin was ready, and it was ready early! The cabin is a large and very spacious room that looks exactly like their photos. It's got trees around them so you do feel like you're in the mountains.||There's a very large dresser, very large closet, and upholstered comfortable chairs. I had asked for a table top to set a laptop onto, and I believe they may have dropped in the metal bistro table and chairs, but regardless, it was much appreciated. ||They had all the amenities you hope to have including a steamer plus iron, coffee maker, and all the expected bathroom amenities.||A big selling point is their supply area for extra towels, paper goods, etc around the clock so you're never left without what you need. ||We loved the design of the buildings which was a fresh contemporary farm house style. The property itself is jaw droppingly gorgeous and expansive looking out onto the mountains.||Being a newer property, I expect this property to continue getting better and better as they already are way ahead of the curve in our book. They might be the best hotel/cabin offering up there for that price point that's not exhorbitant, but still has all the creature comforts us pampered peeps love!||The restaurant was definitely above average and very comfortable, but please keep in mind I'm giving you my opinion from having been in some of the best restaurants in the world. So when I say it's above average, it truly is good, but they have some work to do to make it great and I believe that can be achieved because they already have so much of it right! ||So we will absolutely be back and looking forward to seeing it in another season when leaves are on the trees and it's warm, but for this little winter weekend get-away, I sincerely give them VERY high points and think you all too will enjoy this property as...
Read moreSecond visit.. First time under new management. We arrived on a Wednesday and knew there wouldn't be an in person check in due to the email and text we had received. Upon arrival, one room didn't have soap or clean linen. There was a used towel on the back of the door. After multiple attempts to reach the after hours contact, housekeeping came and brought new linens and fixed the room AC. The king beds are TWIN MATTRESSES pushed together with a wedge in the middle. Falsely advertised as a king- mattresses were different heights, and the wedge was very uncomfortable. The next morning I found ANTS in our bathroom and BLOOD on the coverlet. I emailed the manager and we received a new coverlet. We were told someone sprayed, but the ant trails never ceased. We really just wanted a nice place with amenities, and considering themselves a 'resort', we thought we would have a nice experience. It was a ghost town until Friday afternoon. We had been there 2 days at this point with no sight of an employee. Before booking we were told on the phone AND on the website that a hospitality center would be open each weekday. Our party had to help other guests, one couple that was handicap, and the on call manager was dishonest about room availability when they asked for a main floor option. We were the only ones staying in this Inn and became the check in service. It's like booking an airbnb except zero access to a kitchen, ice, or service. It's despicable they charge a resort fee. This is no resort. I did reach out to the manager about our experience before this review, and I never received a response. This is the same contact I used to fix the dirty linens, ants, and blood. The email listed on the website is the same as what comes with the invoice, and it does not exist. I therefore reached the manager who has never responded. If we go back we will not stay at this INN. Covid is not an excuse for a lack of...
Read morePros: Our room was beautiful. We stayed in Villa Suite 30. It was very spacious & we loved the room. I truthfully think this is the only good thing about our stay. Cons: The water: If you plan on taking a shower, which I would assume everyone would, the water smells like rotten eggs. It will make you gag and I'm not even kidding. Just awful! I felt like I needed a shower after my shower. The winery: What winery? We spent over $1k for 2 night's stay & there was no way to do a wine tasting at our own venue. The restaurant was taken over by a rehearsal dinner & the wine garden was taken over by a welcome party on the first day. The second day both areas were taken over by wedding parties, also. Do they not care about their own customers? Why is there not an area for the ones spending a fortune to stay there to have a glass of wine? The entire reason we wanted to stay at a winery resort is to be able to have wine. The restaurant: We went for breakfast at the restaurant. The food was fine, but the service was horrible. Our server rarely came to check on us & I had to hunt her down to get our check. She was sitting in the back room chatting with other employees instead of tending to her customers. When she tried to get our check, the system was down so she said she would add it to our room bill. We never got an itemized receipt, so we have no clue if she gave herself a tip or not. The text message afterward: I received a text asking me to rate our stay 1-5. I clicked on the message and hit continue thinking it was going to take me to a link to rate our stay, but noooo!!! Instead, it said "Thank you for your tip." What? What tip? I paid $100 for room cleaning that was added to my bill. What tip???
Needless to say, I will not be going back to stay at this location. I wanted to call it a winery resort, but that was so far...
