I just can't say enough good things about renting this cabin. Actually it is my 4th visit since discovering this place about three years ago. And I am coming back for another visit in November. We have been on a "Cousins Retreat" 3 times and I am about to go back my 2nd time with my church ladies retreat. I will try to explain what makes this cabin standout from all the others I have stayed in. First of all its size. It is huge, around 6700 square feet and the nice thing about that is it's big enough for a group not to feel confined or crammed in and yet its just enough space when the group comes together as one. And when they call this a fully-stocked luxury cabin they are truly serious and honest. let me list a few: (1)Any kitchen item you can just about think of has been, provided oh and there are two complete kitchens, 2 refrigerators and three dish washers, (2)many small kitchen appliances are all provided (in what I would call a gourmet kitchen) and some we didn't even know how to use or what they were. (3) the beds and pillows sleep like a dream. (4)a dedicated coffee bar that includes a Keurig (and a second Keurig on bottom level) as well as 2 other coffee pots for those coffee-drinkers who need more than a single cup, (5) well-chosen and decorative christmas decorations that puts you in the Christmas spirit even if it is August (we actually played Dirty Santa!), (6) a nice comfortable theatre room we all enjoyed (7) beautiful surroundings without a zillion others cabins all around blocking the scenery. (8) it has a covered bridge with an access code that provides a sense of safety when being in a place that is off the beaten path---but not hard to get to at all (and there are other people around, but not really close enough to see them--just hear them as they travel by. (9) so many many many how-to notes of how to work something, who to call if it doesn't work etc. There are so many more selling points but I won't take the time to mention them here, if you don't believe me, then get a group or your family and go stay here---you won't be sorry and you will totally understand. I am sorry but i keep remembering other things I have to tell you about I thought of: a massive master bedroom with 2 king beds and an unbelievable gorgeous master bath, plenty of parking space, fire pit with chairs around, a small pond, a screened in porch on the lower level, game room that has many different gaming devices, a handicapped entrance for those who don't do well with steps. If I had to find one thing that it doesn't have and not many places I have stayed do, is an elevator, but that is no big deal, because there are many bedrooms on the main level for those who can't get up the steps. Kathryn and her husband Kurt, goes above and beyond to provide you with a memorable visit, and they answer almost immediately if an issue comes up. There is so much more I could say but i really am stopping this time. So get out there and get those family members together and take a a weekend or a few days to make those special family memories. Thanks again Kurt and Kathryn for giving us such a special place for us to make memories with our cousins who are still here with us...I just hate we didn't find this place or do a family retreat when there were more of us. (P.S. i forgot to mention the porch swings, the covered deck with comfortable seating and eating areas, and...
Read moreExcellent location for our family reunion. This house was a lot of fun with so many special elements that everyone from the youngest kids to the grandparents stayed entertained. The Christmas decorations delighted everyone. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking for a large group and we appreciated the double dish washers in the kitchen and another in the basement. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub, the many games in the basement (pool, air hockey, multiple game consoles), and the theater rooms. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Overall the house had everything we needed for a great stay. The check out process was simple. We also enjoyed the proximity to Pappy's Trading Post for tubing...

Our family loved the theater room, the big kitchen that was well stocked ,the living room was gorgeous as well as the bedrooms! Our family is in the holiday decor business and goes a kick out of the decorations and had presents under the tree in March! The porch area and grounds were very nice also. Our only complaint is the fire pit was a distance away from the house and it was in the teens a few nights! Lol We had 14 people and could have had alot more and never noticed as it...
