I have stayed in these cabins for years, under the previous and now current ownership. I will never stay here again after last week's Thanksgiving visit because: 1. I came home from this trip with an upper respiratory infection that I believe was caused by poor HVAC design and maintenance at the cabin. As seen in the attached pictures, the air vent in the room I stayed in blew directly into the top of my head while sleeping. A curious place for a vent, and I didn't really notice it until the second night or so and merely thought of it as an annoyance. However by the fourth night I had gotten a scratchy throat and didn't feel very well. By the time we left I was sure it had something to do with that vent b/c no one else was feeling like I was. I checked the return vent (across the living room from the fireplace) and not only was it filthy, it was so old it had caved in from the fan suction. This shows a complete disregard for the health of renters and it would seem very coincidental that it had nothing to do with my getting a respiratory infection when I had never had one before. I have to wonder how in the world their most recent inspection from the Georgia Department of Public Health on 10/21/2021 didn't catch this fact. 2. Communication from the property owner was nonexistent. We split this cabin with my wife's aunt and she called three times to make her half of the payment over the phone, left three voicemails, and never got a single call back. On our last night there was a water leak from the second floor to the first that was not an emergency/broken pipe situation and when we called the non-emergency number for Claudia it was no longer in service. I found this very curious for someone in the property management/ownership business. 3. The dryer would take 4-5 cycles to actually dry a load. This really kneecaps the benefit of having a washer and dryer in the first place. Annoying, but not the end of the world. The good: the cabin we rented (Mustang) was very clean when we arrived. Great work by the cleaning crew.

We found Kennedy Creek last September and have been back twice since then. The setting is absolutely beautiful with direct views of the mountains and sprawling grounds where the resort sits. They offer everything from tent camping and yurts, to beautiful cabins. We’ve tent camped once and brought our RV twice. If you’re camping, expect spacious campsites with amazing views. You won’t feel crowded in this place. If RVing, you can opt for a site with electrical hookup but they don’t have water or plumbing yet. They do have showers so we didn’t come close to filling our gray/black tanks on our recent 5 day stay. What I like as an RVer is the open space and views. You won’t feel like you’re in a crowded RV park that’s for sure. The resort also has a 2000’ x 60’ grass runway (GA87) which is absolutely gorgeous. In my opinion this should be a bucket list destination for all pilots that can manage to get in to 2000’ fields. One of the owners has a beautiful “Just” bush plane and he can usually be found flying most Saturday and Sunday mornings. The staff is super friendly and will take great care of you during your stay. It won’t take long for you to realize that they absolutely care about you and your experience. They’ll go out of their way to make sure you enjoy their little slice of paradise. This probably sounds like a paid advertisement but I’m just a happy camper that hopes this place experiences the success it deserves. I’ve been to Ellijay, Helen, Blairsville, Dahlonega, and a lot of other well known mountain spots, and this place is my favorite by far.

Me and my photoclub buddy picked this place to catch April Milkway since It rise after 3AM in this season and decided go for camping. But it was so windy and cold, we decide to change our staying in one of any options like yurt, cabin... Staff took us one of dorm which is full of bunk bed and It saved our night. It was below zero and we might end up get into health problem if we slept in tent. Attached is milkyway pano I took right in front of dorm. I like this place cuz it has good open space to see sky and pretty dark during near or new moon. In stead of going up Brasstown Bald for astrophotography, I will choose this place for any upcoming photo trip. Drone flying is also possible. There is public restaurant but closed until week later. Warm bathroom and hot shower is available. Not sure how expensive compare near facilities but I will go here again.

Nestled in the N.Ga mountains in Suches GA, Kennedy Creek Resort is a family owned business. The heart and soul of the place is Claudia and "Mayor" Wood. Their warmth and consideration for each and every guest is astonishingly hospitable. If you're lucky enough to be there when they have the time (caretakers doncha know)they'll regale you with funny and heartwarming stories. Each cabin is uniquely decorated and most have fireplaces and grills. The back screened porches is the place to be in early morning or late afternoon- especially if you're a bird watcher or just like to relax. There's an airstrip for those who'd like to skip the scenic drive and fly in for more time on-site. Perfect for getaways, destination weddings, corporate retreats, or family reunions- this resort has it all. There's an on-site gourmet chef, an outdoor Pavillion, an area for speakers/entertainers, and of course the private cabins--so one can be as social as they'd like. Near the Appalachian trail, hiking is easily accessible. Don't miss this wonderful resort. I'm looking forward to my next visit! Mobile MAP WARNING: Google and Siri direct the driver to turn into the resort too soon - resulting in a turn onto a remote/rough road - disturbing the people who live there. I've tried to update this on Google. ADVICE: DO NOT TURN off of Hwy 180 until you see the Kennedy Creek Resort sign that's super-obvious. HELPFUL INFO: High Valley is a unique property located in the highest inhabited valley in Georgia (2,850 msl) just 1.5 hour north of Atlanta. This property features a private FAA certified airstrip (GA87), luxury log cabins, bunkhouses, dormitory, meeting room, lodge, commercial kitchen that can be operated as a restaurant. Centered between hundreds of thousands of acres in the national forest between three wildlife management areas with multiple streams and EPD approved water sources on the property. For lightning speed e-connectivity to the outside world there's a fiber optic trunk running through the property. Business includes government/military contracts, motorcyclists, bicyclists, hikers, fishing enthusiasts. Located 2 miles from a major crossing of the Appalachian Trail, 5 miles from the best trout fishing in the Southeastern US, and situated on the curviest road in Georgia (HWY180) which attracts biking enthusiasts from...

We arrived a little after 6pm and it was dark. There were no signs as to where to go for check in. My husband called Claudia for instructions but she didn’t answer. He left a message as we didn’t know what we were supposed to be do. Claudia hasn’t returned the call and it has been three weeks. We chose the road to the right and drove to what we thought was the end of the road. We turned around and went back to the beginning and went the other direction. Our cabin wasn’t there and still no idea where to check in. We went back to the other side and finally found Jeff who told us where our cabin was located- go past where you think the road ends and keep going. The cabin wasn’t locked which was a good thing because there wasn’t a key. It was in the 20’s that night and the cabin was really cold. I checked out the beds and there was a sheet and thin quilt on all the beds and no spare blankets anywhere. My sister and brother in law were coming the next day so I called her to bring blankets. Fortunately, I always keep two small blankets in my car. My husband was in the kitchen checking out dishes, etc. and everything had a film of greasy dirt. He loaded the dishwasher with plates, bowls, glasses, and flatware. Then he hand washed utensils and the tray in the toaster oven. That was when I called my sister to bring kitchen towels and dish cloth. When we started to get ready for bed, we learned that the tv in the bedroom didn’t work. The next morning, it took forever for the tub to drain. My husband found a maintenance guy who gave him some RidX for us to take care of the problem. The next to last morning we were there, a mouse had been in the flatware and utensil drawers and ants in the broom closet in the kitchen. My husband called maintenance for mouse traps. They didn’t return his call or bring a trap. My sister and brother in law left that morning because they were getting sick. My sister had to use her emergency inhaler and my brother in law has a lung condition which was beginning to flair. The four nights cost $1400!!! Needless to say, I would never stay here again and would seriously discourage anyone else to even...
