The Last Resort — Hotel in Dayton

We stayed at The Last Resort recently for a weekend and really enjoyed it. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful at check in even though we arrived just before they closed the store (7pm). We stayed in pull-through spot 31 which had plenty of room for our 17’ trailer and handy electric and water hookups. What impressed us most was how clean the campground was, especially the bathrooms which looked like they had been recently updated with new tile and fixtures. Be sure to have some of the homemade biscuits and gravy they make at the store on the weekend. I would have given the campground 5 stars except that the spots are somewhat close together so not the best for privacy. What a wonderful experience. The camp host/owners Kim and Paul are really good, kind and caring people. They helped our group with pumping up unexpected flat bicycle tires to unclogging our toilet in the early morning to bringing extra firewood to our camp. The store is aforable with lots of things that you forgot to bring and souvenirs. Clean and adorable cabins (I stayed in #4) with a fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans bakeware and coffee maker. Grounds were imaculant and well cared for. Also, the camp owners have rescued, neutered, spayed and re-homed 25 abandoned cats that were dropped off in the wilderness. What Genuien Good People!!!! It's pretty sad that someone would write a bad review calling someone racist at The Last Resort. I've been coming up here for at least 20 years fishing and hunting and I have NEVER been treated poorly here or witnessed anyone else be treated poorly. If we're gonna use the race card, I'm Asian and I've brought Hispanic people and African American people up here many times and never felt even a hint of prejudice.

Also if you're coming here in the end of summer time looking for waterfalls you're probably not going to find them seeing as most of the water is snow melt. And if you're looking to swim in a pond in the end of Summer, there's going to be algea in it. This isn't a place to swim anyways, the ponds are for fishing amd are clearly marked as...
