I just finished another month stay at this resort and as many before me have said it is well maintained, gated, lots of space between each site and a place that if you get up early you can see the sunrise over the lake and if you walk at evening over to the other lake you get to see the sunset ( not many campgrounds provide you both the sunrise and sunset. Megan and Isiah along with the camp host Delbert and Reva bring are very curtious along with attentive to their guests needs. The community fire pit is the one of the big attractions at the camp, the hosts start their day off each morning getting the fire going for everyone to enjoy throughout the day. You will see folks coming up once it’s going with coffee in one hand and a donut in the other. I have meet so many new people during my stays there that have become lifetime close friends. Many of the people who I have met at the campfire have said this campground is a hidden gem, I totally agree with that statement. I have been camping for over 50 yrs, I have not run into many campgrounds that provide you with a setting and enjoyment like this one does.

I need to touch on some previous reviews that come across like the owners and hosts have complete control of everything that takes place in camp. First of all I am an avid fisherman and fish daily when I’m camped there, I have been out many times and come back without a bite, other days I find the right color the fish like and come back with a big smile on my face with lots of fish stories, the camp has not control over if or what you catch from the dock or a boat. There are fish in both lakes, you have to try what you know or ask one of the campers who has been out what to use. If you are staying in one of the cabins, tiny homes, or yurks and find some wrong, tell Megan or one of the hosts, they are very accommodating and want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I guarantee one of them will fix it (don’t wait till you get home and write a bad review about an issue that could have been fixed by telling one of them). They also do not have control of the weather (which includes rain and wind). If it rains it just part of camping, those are the days you can go to the community center and watch a movie on the big screen, play pool with maybe a new friend, or use their community kitchen and make a meal you couldn’t have back in your RV or cabin.

This is for sure a campground you need to put on your list to experience, not many campground have a 4.7 rating with over...

Loved this place! Beautiful scenic views and plenty of places to go, and be, and just waste the day away. The cabin we stayed in was the Victorian, and it was just awesome! Clean through and through, but there were some areas the cabin lacked that could have made our stay a little more convenient.

When we got here, the windows facing the lake were so dirty we couldn't see the lake through the glass. The bedroom door with the king bed does not lock, and the bathroom door to the queen does not close or lock. When opening the second door to the queen bedroom, the force of the door opening opens the door to the bathroom, and anyone in there is exposed to the kitchen and whoever is in it. Also we really loved the shower and the bathrooms, they were very well done. But there is nowhere to hang our towels or bathing suits. Some hooks on the wall or a rack in the bathroom for hanging wet towels/clothes would go a long way. We had to hang our clothes and towels on the door hinges or off the bedside table built into the headboard. Also, the rules state that we are not allowed to bring our towels (the ones provided by the camp) to the pool. However, the information on the website claims that they have everything you need, and didn't say anything about bringing our own towels just to swim. We didn't bring our own towels so we had to go buy some. Same with the blanket on the bed unfortunately. We were told linens were provided. When we got here and saw the blanket they gave us was very thin. We ran to the store and bought a blanket too because we knew we would get cold (the blanket was like a napkin). There was no dish soap for the kitchen, so we had to buy that too. I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom sink (king bedroom) and cupped some water in my hands, and the water was cloudy for some reason.

Would I come back? Absolutely. I just think that there could have been a little more attention to detail. These small changes make a big difference in the end though. Being able to do dishes and hang wet clothes, so they don't wind up on the floor, are small things that in the end, add up to a great vacation.

We had a great time and we will definitely suggest this place to...

We stayed at Twin Lakes Camp Resort for the month of December 2021 to visit friends and family in the area. The park appeared clean and well maintained. The office and maintenance staff were kind and helpful during our stay. Danny and his wife were the camp hosts we connected with the most. They treated us like family, were very responsive to our needs and made us feel welcome as guests. We found the park to be kid-friendly with plenty of lawn games and outdoor grassy areas for our grandchildren to play. The clubhouse was my favorite amenity with comfortable seating, couches to watch the big screen TV and a large dining are with long tables to have meals with family. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and well maintained. I've been a full-time RVr for 4+ years and have stayed at many campgrounds and RV parks. My impression of this park is it looked and felt like a Glamping experience with resort quality amenities including the clubhouse, bathrooms and laundry facilities. I consider the RV site spacing to be tight. Busy weekends and the holiday season made me feel a little claustrophobic with the number of RVs, vehicles, guests and activity. We were sensitive to the ubiquitous campfire smoke from guests that rented fire rings and the resort's community campfire near the office that burned or sometimes smoldered for most of the daytime and evening hours. The wildlife was abundant in and around the lakes. We enjoyed watching the ducks, saw a Bald Eagle and marveled at so many turtles. We asked about extending our stay for 2 more nights but discovered the rates had jumped ~15% on January 1, 2022. I am shocked at the unbelievable inflation that's embedded in the RV and campground industry. We considered the new rate too expensive and found a more affordable RV park nearby. But, we would stay here again because of the park's location near our family, the outstanding staff and camp hosts and the resort...

I stayed in Tiny House #2 with my husbandand dog for 2 nights in March. The view was beautiful, lots of windows, the bedroom, living room and, bathroom all have great views too. The bed was very soft and comfortable. My husband slept on the futon and it was very uncomfortable. The second night he got one of the cots from the loft and put it on top of the futon and it helped a bit, but he was still uncomfortable. If you like a soft bed I would recomend bringing a memory foam topper or air mattress in twin size. The tub was great, it looks small in the picture, but it is about the size of a standard tub. I am 5'5'' and could sit with my legs fully extended. The best part is the window next to the tub. You have a beautiful view of the lake while soaking in the tub. It does not have a shower but apparently there are very nice showers in bath house. Unfortunately it was to cold for me to go to the pool. I did not use any of the other facilities either. I had a nice relaxing time, but I probably won't return here because the roads are all gravel. I am in a power wheelchair but I can walk a bit, like just around in the tiny house. When I go on vacation I like to drive my wheelchair around to walk my dog, see, the other views, and go to facilities. It is impossible for most wheelchairs to drive on gravel. Also none of the tiny houses are wheelchair accessible. It would be nice if they had a portable ramp they could set up if needed. I brought my own 6 foot ramp as I can't climb steps. I did not use my wheelchair on it, I walked on it with my cane. It worked but it was very steep and dangerous, my husband had to help me up and down. Apparently there is a wheelchair accessible cabin, but it looked far from the lake. This is why I chose the Tiny House. My husband walked our dog all over the campground and said it was very nice. I would recommend this place to able-bodied people, but not to wheelchair users.

We have stayed at Twin Lakes for the month of March, both this year and last. They have been truly beautiful stays. The staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning about the history of the campground, and also sites in historic Defuniak Springs. One of our favorite things about the camp is that you can watch the sunrise over one lake, and enjoy the sunset over the other. Absolutely breathtaking!! The campground is spotless and secured. You feel safe anytime - day or night. There is also a community fire ring allowing you to meet and mingle with other campers. It is the perfect place to relax. The bathrooms are clean, updated, and gorgeous! I wish mine at home looked as good 😁. The pool is well-maintained, and a good place to enjoy the sunshine. Glamping, tiny houses, and the cabin suites, are also available, making this campground perfect for all families and stages of camping. If you like to fish, the lakes offer that opportunity. It is fun to watch the ducks and their babies, and spot turtles - especially during feeding times. This past year we enjoyed seeing eagles, heron, a some falcons. We also heard a couple of owls. If you are looking for a relaxing, top notch camping facility, Twin Lakes is for you.
