Extended Stay America Select Suites - Oklahoma City - Del City — Hotel in Del City

I was reluctant to stay here because of some of the reviews but I figured it was cheap and I was primarily here to sleep. I really enjoyed it here. I didn’t get the front desk clerks name but she was very polite and helpful. My room was clean and everything worked, there wasn’t much noise and I didn’t have to worry about my car being broken into and it’s close to everything. It was a great way to have a studio with a kitchen for cheap. My only complaints and the reason why I left 4 stars and not 5 is as follows,

my bed was comfortable but the frame it’s on is noisy.

The facility could use some repairs. The door handle fell off the main door when I was leaving and I put it back on. It’s a little older of a building so no big deal.

My other issue and they can’t do much about it, is the smell of marijuana. They have signs everywhere saying it’s a smoke free facility, and you sign paperwork that you’ll be fined if you smoke in your room. But, the place still smells like weed everywhere. But my room was free of smells. Again, they can only do so much to keep people from breaking rules.

In the end. I would absolutely stay here again. And idk if the clerk is new or if she’s the one who had complaints in some of the reviews but I thought she was very polite, professional...

To start off the reservation which I booked and paid for was not saved in my name, but in the name of the person I was traveling with so there was confusion with that. There was a heavy police presence that seemed to always be at this location. Fresh linen is only available if the resident pays an extra $1.98 per day to get them. The floors in the room and bathroom were not swept thoroughly. The bath tub had hair all in it and the shower head was full of grime, rust, and mold. The hallways had a lingering stench of cigarette smoke. The full size bed was very uncomfortable as the mattress was not on top of the box spring like most bedding for adults, but on top of a metal frame similar to a cot. The only complimentary toiletries that they offer is one bar of soap. It seems if there is a person on a short stay, then the management should offer more as opposed to extended tenants. Also, the management literally bangs on your door the day of your checkout and asks if you're "checking out or paying." I didn't even attempt to disappoint myself by partaking in the complimentary breakfast. This particular establishment is god awful and it was similar to a city funded homeless shelter. If there was a lower star they would have gotten one. The shelf in the bathroom looked like it was growing mold, the tub faucet would not stop running, the tub was dirty , the walls are so thin and the night staff was rude and uncompromising. But we are relocating I chose to not complain. If you have children I would not recommend anyone to stay here because babies will babies and kids will be kids and they did not understand that. One of the staff members came to the door about my children and did not address the situation right she just said “why are you hollering at them kids”. I would have understood if she said can y’all quiet down but she was addressing the wrong thing. Then get ignorant, and want to go back and forth after I told her we would quiet down. Then when we get mad she proceed to call the cops and the cops get there and leave because he said he felt like the situation was not serious enough to call.
