277 North Campground — Hotel in Del Rio

I'd already seen one of the other camping areas and it just was like a big parking lot, so I hoped this one would be better, but I'm not impressed. 😕 It's just a bunch of campers clustered close together in the brush, and a fairly long walk down a boat ramp to even SEE any sign of the lake. Not even water available, just trash bins and vault toilet. No thanks... never again. Price is also now $6/night,...

With the interagency pass the camping fee is $6 a night (normal fee, but no entry fee). The disability pass allows you to camp for $3. This site has 8 to 10 sites. Always pleased with our stays on government land. This is part of Amistad National Recreation Area. This campground is not free, but prices are low. $3 for Senior Passholders, and $6 for everyone else. Unfortunately, the water table is very low. At the boat ramp, you could put in a canoe or kayak, but I wouldn't recommend...
