This place WAS magical, fun, and amazing UNTIL the owner got married.

Also, they have no formal reservation confirmation follow-up system which caused them to lose revenue but the blame was placed solidly with my family. When we left after our week in 2016, we never confirmed that we would be back for 2017. Out of courtesy, as we had no obligation, we emailed at year end and informed them we wouldn't be back in 2017. They claim they never got this message which caused our two cabins to stand vacant for one week, and now they would rather forfeit additional revenue by not renting to us in the future. Quite the business model, isn't it.

All of the other places we have stayed on Dead Lake send out confirms the beginning of the year so they have time to get any vacancies rented up versus no income at all due to no follow-up. This is Kimps Kamp cancellation policy: "Cancellations: Please be aware that all deposits are non-refundable. Following a cancellation, payment for the cancelled cabin must be paid in full prior to making a reservation for the next year. Feel free to call us regarding this policy." This is a ridiculous policy and was clearly enacted due to laziness and not taking the time to confirm with renters and prevent loss of revenue. Proactive behavior versus reactive would solve everything.
