I just spent 2 nights at this hotel. Just a warning... if you do not have a car, this place is not good. Nothing nearby except a university. Everything is a long distance walk. I was here for a conference at the university and it was convenient but those who arrived by plane hated their experience. ||Check-in was easy but nothing was mentioned about the complimentary breakfast. I asked since it was mentioned by the conference organizers. They vaguely pointed down a hall and said it was at the double doors. Great. Later I realized they didn't mention the time and called (7am-8:30am). My room was alright but had a feeling of old. There were black hair on all my pillows (washing or housekeeping?). The pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The bed was mediocre in letting me sleep (not comfortable but not miserable). The shower only had hot and scolding hot until the sun went down. I called and they immediately sent a young gentleman up who told me there was nothing he could do. I went by the office to see if anything else was going to be done and they said they could move me to an older room down the hill. I declined since my friend was in that area and said it was ancient. I found it odd the front desk didn't reach out to me, I had to ask. I did receive cold water at 9pm, so I was happy with the shower. The walls are thin and anyone walking and talking in the exterior hallway can be heard clearly. On the 1st night several groups of FFA high school students were running around and screaming, talking, and being obnoxious yelling ye-haw from 11pm to 11:45ish. ||Breakfast was actually really nice. They had muffins, danishes, toast, oatmeal, cold cereal, bacon, sausage, potatoes and scrambled eggs. Since we were there at 7am, the food was hot and fresh. ||Overall, the place was good for the conference. I will never stay there if I was just traveling through. The location is out of the way for that. The conference price was $93 so for that...

My recent stay at Kellogg West Conference Center in Pomona left me with mixed feelings. There were certainly some positives, but several unexpected issues detracted from what could have been a much better experience.
The most disappointing aspect was arriving to find that both the hotel pool and gym were closed to guests, with absolutely no prior notification. For someone who specifically looks for these amenities when booking accommodations, this was a significant letdown. What made it more frustrating was that despite the friendly demeanor of the staff, there was no offer of compensation or alternative solutions for the lack of facility access. And there was also no follow-up from the manager who we were told to email.
The room itself had challenges as well. The air conditioning unit appeared to be quite outdated and struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature, especially during warmer hours. In Southern California, functional A/C isn't just a luxury—it's a necessity.
On the positive side, the grounds surrounding the conference center are quite beautiful and well-maintained, offering pleasant views and walking areas. A genuine highlight was the complimentary EV charging stations, which was both convenient and appreciated as an environmentally conscious traveler.
The staff members were consistently friendly and polite throughout our stay, even if their hands seemed tied when it came to addressing the facility closure issues.
Overall, Kellogg West has potential with its lovely location and courteous staff, but the unexpected amenity closures without compensation and outdated room features prevent me from giving it a higher rating. With some improvements to their communication and facilities, this could easily become a four or five-star...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for 8 nights during a conference we headed up on the Cal Poly Pomona campus. Hotels are a distance away from campus so this put us much closer to our venues. A complimentary continental breakfast of varied quality and nothing to write home about was included with the price of the room. The facility itself is older but fairly well kept. The rooms are adequate in size but the bathroom was quite small and required some maneuvering to balance toiletries and utilize the small sink. The exhaust fan in our room (#240) didn't work the entire time of our stay, even though I reported the problem with it the first morning.||||Kellogg West sits atop a small hill. A stairway leads down the hill to the main campus. Usually, there is a shuttle moving back and forth to help people get to their destination on campus. Inquire about it before assuming it will be running! Also, they usually provide on-demand shuttle service from and to the airport in Ontario, CA. Inquire about its availability before assuming it will be available during your stay.||||All in all, we had a pleasant stay at the conference center. And it sure beat staying off campus at one of the hotels a mile and a half away, as we didn't have to fight the commuting traffic.||||If you stay here, be sure to visit the farm store and also the Arabian Horse Center, highlights of this Cal...
