Wow where do I start? I absolutely LOVE everything that Texas Forest Country Retreat has to offer! This is hands down the most beautiful place I've ever been- it's tucked away in the beautiful pines of East Texas. From the first time we (my husband and I) set eyes on the Mansion on Sawmill Lake we knew we had to get married under the gorgeous tree overlooking the pond. We got married May 28, 2016 and our wedding couldn't have been more perfect. Jennifer Coogler is the wedding coordinator/innkeeper at the Bed & Breakfast and I cannot thank her enough for everything she did to make sure our wedding was beautiful. Texas Forest Country Retreat has so much wonderful family history it's truly amazing. I had the pleasure of meeting Bob the owner the day of our wedding and he was so kind and has the sweetest southern drawl. If you are looking for a place to say your "I do's" or simply a relaxing weekend away-I would highly recommend visiting Texas Forest Country Retreat. McWilliams and Son held our first Planning Retreat for our leadership team at this venue and we could not have been more pleased. The Staff was VERY accommodating, the home, carriage house and surroundings were very attractive and clean; and the food was DELICIOUS! We enjoyed the Hospitality shown by James and his wife, Jennifer and their friend, Christy. We held our meetings in the carriage house and it was perfect for our group of 7. We had access to WiFi which made accessing our presentations and emails easy. The Carriage house also was very accessible to a near by restroom and covered pavilion where we enjoyed several breaks throughout the weekend and it also had a mini fridge, sink and counter that was perfect for our snack area. We would definitely use Texas Forest Country Retreat again for future events. BEAUTIFUL scenery away from the hustle and bustle of the city...perfect quite place for a weekend of planning.
