I have stayed at the Barons Lodge twice now. I give this place five stars primarily because of the staff and cooking. The General manager is Amazing. Very friendly and very helpful. Our first time staying at the lodge we were quite surprised that they serve dinner. Being it was a motel I did not think the food would taste too good. So I almost didn't try it. It was my daughter whom said.... "Mmmmmmhh, mommy I want mashed potatoes". So, I said okay... we will try it. That night they served chicken cordon blu (hopefully all spelled right), green beans, mashed potatoes with homemade gravy and homemade bread. Everything tasted great. Lots of flavor, especially green beans and gravy! The bread and green beans were to die for! They had extra that night and even came by with wrapped up plates for my daughter and I. We ate it all the following day once we got home for dinner. The following morning we went to get breakfast and it was biscuits and gravy and I believe the gravy was homemade as well. My daughter wanted a waffle and we messed the mix up in the waffle maker and the manager politely came over and helped us. She was very patient and kind. Helped to put my anxiousness about the mess we were creating to rest. The second time we went and had breakfast, she offered to heat us up some gravy, but I told her it was okay. I do not believe gravy was even served that day. So that shows just how accommodating she is. She treated us as if we were guest in her own home. They also have a pet that lives there. So that also made my daughter very happy to pet him and see him. We felt very comfortable. We then went back a second time and my daughter was SO happy!!!!! She couldn't wait to eat! However, I mentioned they only cook dinner twice a week. She said that's okay I like the lady that works there. Our second time going the General manager walked us to our room and helped us with our pets and belongings. Helped to accommodate us as well. She even gave us dog bones and dog cookies.
I will say the rooms are small, but they offer the best prices in this town. They do allow their dog to run the hall sometimes and I will say I was caught off guard at first, but friendly and honestly makes me feel more like I am home away from home. if you are looking for hospitality, a good place to sleep with a clean room. Give the barons lodge a try. The General manager herself is worth giving this place a try. It is hard to find such great hospitality in staff these days. She literally treated my daughter, dogs and I so kind. I will continue to go mainly for that reason. Being that I am a woman with child coming to the middle of nowhere to find someone that treats us the way the General manager treated us is Amazing and...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying here, monday upon check in I noticed a blonde female who had gone to the car beside me to smoke on a break, I was wondering what was around since I'd never been there. So I asked her if she worked there, she responded with yes I do. I asked if she knew anything about the town, and how long she'd been around here. She said anything you'd like to know, and almost 13 years, I asked here so many questions and she answered one after another, and was so nice and helpful. Very respectful friendly and inviting. About 2 hours lady after checking in, I ran into her upstairs cleaning some rooms, having just bought a new phine I had no idea how to work tge thing or switch all my stuff from my old one and she helped me and had it done in no time, she was great it's nice to see good people still exists, I believe her name was Kaylee but not 100% just thought I'd give credit where credit is due she was the only staff member to interact with everyone else was just there because they had to be it seemed. Anyway she made my experience amazing so...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!! Despite what the reviews said my husband and I decided to give it a chance anyway. When I arrived the desk worker was sitting in a vehicle with another worker and walked in smelling of marijuana. When I tried to check in she had to look at her phone to get my card information because she forgot we were coming. The pet accomadating rooms that we were supposed to be in were not clean because they did not prepare for us, so we were placed in am incredibly small room upstairs that had stains on the pillows and sheets. The following morning we arrived to check out and for breakfast at 7:15 and there was absolutely nothing left. We decided to go elsewhere to eat, even though I chose Barrons Lodge because it included breakfast. I tried to grab a coffee on the way out and there was only hot water left. I then had to yell "hello" three times before a girl walked out of a room looking like she just rolled out of bed. Needless to say we will never be back and I will ALWAYS recommend someone to stay elsewhere. Worst customer service I have ever...
