We attended a wedding in Donaldsonville and decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The hotel makes a good impression upon arrival in the lobby..very clean and bright. We were pleasantly greeted by the front desk, were checked in and we proceeded to our room. The room was pleasant although it was a little tight on comfort..closet, doorways..etc. We noticed how high the bed was. It was not an issue for my husband but I'm only 5ft tall. I could not get into that bed. My husband had to extend his arm out and I had to pull myself up and let him drag me onto the bed. That made me angry. Then the next morning I tried to fix coffee. That Kuerig Coffee Maker would NOT work no matter what I did. I tried 3 seperate times to get it to make coffee. It would say Brewing and then nothing happened. We finally gave up. My husband threw some clothes on and went down into the lobby to get us some coffee..very frustrating. I told the manager on duty and she was aware of issues with the high bed. I asked her if other attendants had made complaints and she indicated there had been some comments. I can't imagine a hotelier allowing a company to place a bed like that in a room knowing that there are a variety of people who may or may not be able to get into that type bed. Oh and the sheets and bedspread were so that I could not pull them up to my shoulders for sleeping. I have to sleep sitting upward so I'm up against the headboard. The sheets and comforter were tucked in to the point I could not pull them all the way up. I have to say I did not get a good nights sleep..I'm glad I was there for only one night. My husband is in the hotel business and has been for over 40 years so our expectations are maybe greater than others. I just know what people like and don't like when they are away from home. I think someone in corporate needs to re-evaluate the bedding in these rooms. It doesn't make sense to have something so out of...

Read moreAbout 2 weeks ago i went to Holiday Inn located in donaldsonville because I had heard they needed housekeepers. I proceeded to enter the hotel and was met with a customer in line ahead of me. I waited, when things seemed a bit handled i asked the person at the desk to point me in the direction of the manager. I was ignored. I asked twice more and he very rudely asked if i could wait until he was finished with the customers. I waited When he was done i proceeded with my request about the job. (I had inside information about him just getting rid of a housekeeper so i knew for sure he needed people) i asked him once more he stared at me giving me no answer. Then he goes on to say “i don’t like how that interaction just went”. This is when i realized he was the manager, and i asked once more about the job and he stared at me saying absolutely nothing which made me very uncomfortable. His body language said everything he didn’t . I simply came in looking for a job and got an attitude. I’m not sure if its a race thing or what. Because Mr. Joc had absolutely no reason to deny me work. He is very rude and his body langue was unsettling as well. I suggest you guys find someone else to be at the front desk because he is very unwelcoming and does not know how to talk to people at all! I was very dissatisfied with the experience i had with Mr. Joc and i know i can’t be the only one who has experienced his rudeness and lack of customer...
