The campground is older, built on the side of the mountain. They did good trying to get as many RV sites as they could, but that also means that the sites are built terraced down the mountain which makes it extremely challenging to back in to. We had a lot of problems with this, but because the campground was pretty empty, we drove around and drove through the site behind us. There are a good amount of trees over the road, so it was difficult to keep from scratching the RV. Acorns or some other kind of nut also falls from the trees non-stop, so be prepared to get 'thunked' periodically. The staff was respectful but very stern with their job. It was ok for us because we're not rule-breakers, but their rules were pretty bazarre to us. I only had an issue when I asked about the low wires down the road and the guy answered me in a sarcastic way. The bathrooms were older, but were clean. I didn't use them, but saw that they were pretty well kept up. The putt putt course is a basic mountain-side course. The pool was closed for the season, the pavillion was large and accomodating, and the clubhouse was great! We especially loved the free pool table in the adult lounge. It was an older pocket-type table so we could play the type of game we wanted without losing money. It was definitely the highlight of our visit. They also had a food truck that sold a good variety of foods. We stayed 2 nights here, and were very happy to leave, ONLY because the hills and manuevering with a 5th wheel was very stressful in tight places. I don't believe we'll be back here, but it's a nice stopover if you're on the way through. We camped at Roaring Run Resort in a Fifth Wheel Cell service was fine with our ATT and Verizon, but not super. It will be enough to work on the computer.

Recently, my family visited the beautiful Roaring Run Resort, recommended to us by friends. We wanted an affordable, family friendly camping environment and had such a pleasant experience. Roaring Run had nice RV sites, lots of room, plenty of shade and offered a safe environment for young children which was such a relief! I felt completely comfortable allowing them to take off and enjoy the resort. The staff was friendly and approachable from the minute we arrived and met all of my family’s needs. This resort was a great value and offered many on-site activities that my family loved. In particular, we spent a lot of time at the beautiful volleyball court! The numerous sports activities and miniature golf course were perfect for family time activities. In the evening, the fire pit was a great place to relax and enjoy nature while meeting other families staying at the resort. Location is great! It is a perfect place to stay in order to be close to numerous biking and hiking trails. Mi family is very big into outdoor activities so this was a big deal to us.The resort is located in a beautiful serene and quiet area, but close enough to great locations for daytime activities like skiing, golfing, and fishing. For our needs, after weighing the cost versus what we could pay to visit public campsites (which most likely aren’t as nice as Roaring Run,) the hour and a half drive, and most importantly the memories we will look forward to creating with our children and friends, we decided it was well worth it.

Our experience at Roaring Run Resort has been great! The resort is located in the Laurel Highlands, about an hour outside of Pittsburgh. It is not far away from fun places like Seven Springs, and the famous Fallingwater house. (We're huge fans of Frank Lloyd Wright) Wanna give a shout out to the staff, who were going out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. It was convenient to have wi-fi, as I often need to check my work e-mail while traveling. When we weren't traveling around to the many local landmarks, we spent a lot of time hanging out by the pool, which we found to be very well kept compared to those at other campgrounds. (see photo) If we weren't at the pool, we would be stopping by the different themed events that the resort would put on during the weekends. These are always a huge hit for the kids. Overall, we are making a lot of great memories at Roaring Run, without breaking the bank. The private resort really allows you to get to know the other people that are camping there. Looking forward to a great summer!

This is the first resort that we absolutely hated. The gentleman that initially greeted us was wonderful. He said since we were staying a week that we could drive through the park and pick any open site. Since my husband is a disabled vet we chose to stay in Site 2 a disabled site. We did not realize that the sites had shared pedestals for power, so when we backed in and after using 30 Lynx pads to try to level out we thought we were set. The power was on our hookup side. We enjoyed the evening though we were still so unlevel we felt like we were walking sideways. The next day we left with our Shih Tzus in the motorhome as we did not want to leave them while in vehicle as it was too hot and humid out. We were gone about 7 hours when we came back and were informed my the man in site 1 that he unplugged us. I was scared as it was hot with no air conditioning for my pups. I got them out of the MH with them panting and looking weak. I explained to the neighbor lady that my dogs could have died and she informed me that she would like to kill me!

Went up to guard gate and explained that our power cord could not reach the pedestal when new gate gray haired man started swinging his finger at me and yelling. I tried to tell him we were just going to drive around and find a new site. He said "you will stay in site I give you!" I tried to explain our cord was not long enough to reach opposite pedestals. He ended up insisting we stay in site 8. Again it was a pedestal on wrong side. My husband decided to pull nose in but still we had problems reaching. We were so stretched that power fell out back and forth. At this time Keith James came by. He is the manager, and besides telling my husband he didn't want any more problems during our stay, told my hubby to go to his park store and buy an extension cord for the 30 amp. We had been traveling for almost 4 months and had never had this problem! Yes it took 3 boxes of Lynx again to get level. The cable did not work at all...total fuzz. The man at the gate said for us to deal with the fuzz, he would put in a work order and they might be able to get out the next day. My husband was no longer in a handicap site and we were miserable. We went to the office in the next morning and told Judy that we were checking out and would like our five days of trip points refunded. She said C2C would do that. FYI if we wanted Internet it was $18 dollars for seven days per device. (Two laptops, 2 cells and an iPad! $90) No...

I have been calling around to campsites in the Laurel Highlands area today to inquire about rates for RV sites. I explained to the lady answering the phone that we are buying our first RV and enjoy skiing so we would like to find a location that we can use all winter during ski season. (we are also looking for a year around spot too). She than asked if I was a member. No I'm not a member, how do I become a member I asked her? Her response was to go online and fill out a form. I told her I am in a hurry to find a location, as I only have 2 weeks to figure this out. I asked her if she can give me an an overview of how to become a member, and what it involves, and how their fees work. She said she could not tell me that. I asked if there was anyone there that could and she said no, it has to be someone in sales. I asked when the sales person is there, and she said that she thinks Friday/Saturday. I'm sorry but if a Members only resort is not willing to take extra time to speak with a potential new member on the phone, then they really don't want the business. Also, it is probably good insight as to how the rest of their customer service is to their members. Will not be calling them back, or filling out the form. Whoever the business owner is should recognize that their office lady should not be dealing with customers, and has no customer service skills. Whether she was told to direct everyone to the website or not, there is still a more polite way to do it. If it is the direction of the business owner, they need to rethink their procedure with new member inquires. I am sure I am not the only one that is not taking the extra step to fill out a form online after having a bad experience on the phone. Members only brings the notion of high standards and a high customer service expectations, this experience failed at meeting both. Being treated like a member without being a member is how you bring new members, not by treating them like they...
