We arrived around 545 on a Monday. We were hungry. The guy at the desk, we'll call him Will, suggested a restaurant and a couple of grocery options and we were provisioned within an hour. Our room was neat and tidy. There is a serious family cabin vibe in the rooms, but with artisan treats. We were greeted with 2 delicate, hand painted artisnal chocolates and handmade toiletries from a local artisan. The furniture is adorable and perfect for the space. There were 2 chairs near the window in the back of the room, with an appointed table with lamp. The beds were pulled straight from someone's grandmother's cabin! The wood is beautiful and well maintained. The beds creek, but are comfortable enough for a solid night's sleep. The dresser/desk and unit for the fridge were beautiful and also matched the rest of the room. There was an additional chair and lamp at the desk. We had no need for any climate control, as the temperature was mild and the rain storm in the night was merely a wonderful addition to the live "white noise machine" of the mountain. I did have to reach behind the dresser for something that had fallen, at floor level and underneath as well as behind the furniture was dust free and clean! The carpet is clean and the blinds are nice. Overall, the room feels like a nice throwback or like you are staying with your grandma. The bathroom was clean and well- appointed.
We were one of 2 or 3 guests on this Monday evening, and our 4 legged beasts had the run of the place. We sat in the provided Adirondack chairs, which were sprinkled throughout, under the massive trees, for a peaceful view of the mountain as the sun set. The dogs ran, off leash, dodging the lucious landscaped flowers and trees. The porch runs the length of the Inn, so the rain didn't zap any fun or access to amenities. This place is tranquil, with handmade soaps to use, a lovely and welcoming common area with chairs, games, coffee, kitchenette with microwave and a truly hospitable vibe. When I return to VT, I WILL arrange to stay here again, and I suggest you find a way to...
Read moreI'm going to start by saying I was extremely happy about my choice to book here just based off the first phone call alone. The hostess (Cindy) was incredibly polite, welcoming and friendly. It was like calling a family member to let them know when you were coming to visit.
Once we arrived, the property was absolutely stunning. The view of the mountains, the landscaping of the grounds and the outdoor amenities made this place a hidden gem. The innkeepers provided us with supplies to make a fire outside in the well appointed fire pit. It was surrounded by Adirondack chairs, tree stump seats and a large and well constructed pit with plenty of firewood.
Both Bob and Cindy (the innkeepers) came out to the fireplace that first night and asked if they could join me. They offered me a local craft beer favorite of theirs and we shot the bull for a good while. GREAT folks and you can tell they bust their behinds going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
The room was immaculate. It smelled freshly cleaned when we entered, it looked incredibly clean and was well stocked with teas and coffees as well as what appeared to be local hand soaps.
If I could give these folks 10 stars I would!
I will be a repeat customer for the foreseeable future visits just to have this hospitality and quaint...
Read moreWell-kept property. Staying there was like taking a trip in the 1960's except the rooms have been upgraded to include a fridge and microwave. Other nice touches like homemade soap and candies make it unique and inviting. Massive green space beyond parking area in front of motel conducive for short walks, informal outdoor activities or just relaxing in the many Adirondack chairs under the trees or sitting around the fire pit. View of the hillside beyond the lawn area particularly nice in autumn when leaves change color. Rooms are reasonably large for mid-20th century vintage motel. Beds were comfortable and bathroom clean and well-stocked. Check-in time is limited, so be sure to verify times before you arrive. Owners/managers appear to be doing a lot of the room cleaning themselves so understandably can't maintain a 24/7 front desk operation with that much on their plate during the day. All-in-all a good stay at a quiet, comfortable property off the beaten path. If you need a place with lots of spontaneous activity, amenities with lots of quaint restaurants and shops nearby -- this isn't for you. After 10 days on the road at 8 different properties, we found this to be a great place to catch our breath before a long drive home. A safe choice at...
