We stayed at Camp Tuscazoar for the weekend while I ran the Tuscazoar 100 Ultra Marathon, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The location couldn’t have been more perfect—the camp sits right on the race course, which made it incredibly convenient for both me and my crew. Being able to stay in our RV on-site meant less stress, no early morning drives, and quick access to aid stations and drop bags during the race. The camp itself is beautiful, full of history, and offers a peaceful, rustic atmosphere that still felt welcoming and well cared for. The RV area was easy to access, and everything was clean and well maintained. A special shoutout to Dan, the camp ranger, who was incredibly helpful throughout the weekend—he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and made the stay even better. Even beyond the race, the trails and scenery are stunning, and it’s clear why so many people love coming here to hike, bike, or just enjoy nature. The reservation process was smooth and straightforward, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and accommodating. Overall, Camp Tuscazoar provided the perfect home base for an unforgettable race weekend, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great camping spot or outdoor adventure. Read moreFirst night here. My husband was here maybe 10 minutes early for check in. Went to talk to the ranger he was rude and made a comment. And said "check in as at 6pm, that's all im going say". And also asked when we would be checking out. My husband said he wasn't sure. And the ranger stated that he needed an exact time to make sure we were not going to leave a mess for him. We would never do that. And it was extremely off putting for him to suggest.
All the campsites were spaced and most were large enough for groups. All were wooded and secluded.
It's a beautiful place to camp but we did not appreciate how we were greated. I'm not sure why he felt the need to be so rude to people that just want to enjoy camping at this...
Read moreBeautiful place filled with such amazing history. We went with the cubscout pack stayed in the oldest cabin in the oldest boy scout camp in Ohio. The true rustic cabin was filled with character. The Maple days were filled with fun facts and it was so interesting to see how maple syrup is made right from the trees on the campground. Absolutely delicious too the pancake breakfast with eggs & sausages was fantastic Toped with the camp made...
