Beware of the cancellation policy....Which is not posted anywhere on their site for camping! I called yesterday to book for 2 nights this upcoming weekend. When I spoke to Sharon I told her that I may call her back if the reservation wasn't going to work out. I literally called back 3 1/2 hours later to cancel ( left a message). She called me back this morning to verify the cancellation. So I was expecting to get the full amt.(1 nights stay) credited back to my credit card....NOPE she said she could give me the full amt. back if there was a death in the family or an emergency (which there wasn't I was being honest) or 1 night free stay (which I didn't want) or a refund of only 50% back on my card . I then reminded her that I had just called yesterday and told her that I may call back to cancel... not once did she mention only getting 1/2 my money back. Had I know this I would not have reserved a spot! I looked back on their website to see if I missed something about cancellations and I did not. Nothing mentioned about cancelling for camping spots. The campground may be fine but we will not ever stay there...
Read moreTimbercrest is an excellent newer campground off the beaten path in the midst of the rolling hills of Ohio Amish countryi. The setting is gorgeous. The park is on a flat prairie surrounded by the hills. While there is little to no trees and shade in the park proper, it is surrounded by thick woods giving a feel of seclusion. Sites are mostly pull thru with 50 amp and full service and are long enough for a big rig with toad. Sites and interior roads are crushed rock and in good shape. Restrooms are immaculate and roomy. The grounds were freshly mown. Utilities are in a post and water is good solid plumbing. Water pressure a little low but that's fine. Wifi worked well. Park is very, very quiet and in the early morning you can hear the distant hooves of horses on the road. It is conveniently located in the heart of the small towns. Really enjoyed this clean and quiet park but there is no pool and there is not much for children. If you required good hookups, cleanliness and peace and quiet,...
Read moreWe stayed for a weekend and were hoping to have found something close to home that we could quickly sneak away but get home easily if needed but were disappointed. Website is deceiving. If you are a couple and want to enjoy the day in Amish country you will be satisfied but if you have kids I recommend you go somewhere else. There was a stray dog running around that my dog was scared of so we had to keep putting our dog inside everytime it came around which was extremely bothersome, other campers said owner knew and tried to find neighbor who owned the dog but would not get it out of the campground. Website showed a beautiful playground near the sites but was NOT the case! Playset was in wooded area with broken swings and was not visible from any lots in the campground. Unfortunately we won't be going back but if you are an older couple looking for a place to be close to shopping and Amish novelties you won't be...
