Read moreHonestly, I cannot give enough of an amazing review and things to say. I originally stayed within the Yellowstone park lodging and it WAS TERRIBLE!!! I spent over $350.00 PER NIGHT just to sleep in a bed, not even a cup of coffee for free. BUT here at Teepee Lodge, It felt beyond cozy, warm, welcoming. The background music was so relaxing, the fire place in the middle of room was so warm and welcoming. There was even a place to enjoy pool table or ping pong. MY room was so clean I cannot even say how impressed I was and still am. This is family owned and you can see why it is clean and comfortable. It is the little things that impressed me, it was the little decorations that are very touching. Alma put all her special touches to make this warm, cozy, welcoming and beautiful. I even had a flower bed hanging outside my window. GORGEOUS!! On my check out, I sat on the couch and as I drank my coffee and ate my muffin, I watched the cleaning staff actually clean the room, I mean they wiped down the door handles!!!!! My room actually had a small air plant by the sink. In the park lodges, you didn't get anything like this. In my lodge room in the park, it was old looking, dusty and dirty and I paid double the price of what I paid at this beautiful Teepee Lodge. If there is any advice I can give you, who is reading this and thinking of staying in the park lodge or staying in this Teton TEEPEE LODGE, all I can say is stay one night in the Yellowstone lodging and you will see what I am saying. The food is beyond disgusting in the park and unbelievably expensive. Then reserve all of your stay in this beautiful place TETON TEEPEE LODGE, ( if you can even get a room, since it is so booked up quickly). Owners, Dan and his wife Alma, are wonderful and welcoming, oh and Lizzy the gorgeous greeter. They actually sat down on the couch and talked with guests and gave us opinions on where to go eat or see. They live there so they should know best. All I can say is this place gets booked up quickly even for skiing season, and there is a reason, once you are there, you'll see why and then you get mad for not booking your stay earlier. If you are thinking of vacationing in the Wyoming, Idaho area and or are going to Yellowstone park, STAY HERE. I wished I went a little later in September or early October so I can see the snow and enjoy the firepit more. You will be glad you did. If you are planning a huge family getaway, this place has 18 rooms and it gets booked up for large family reunions as well and skiing clubs so book early.. THANKYOU TEEPEE LODGE for having this place and keeping it warm and welcoming and clean. Hope to come back soon, ...
My review is based on my expectations. This property is definitely geared to a very specific guest profile. It was not a good fit for me. I was on a multi-week, multi-state motorcycle tour and looking for a luxury place to rest and rejuvenate. I have been to upscale ski lodges before; this was not that. |I gave it an average rating because the lodge itself was attractive on the exterior with grounds that were quite beautiful. The community great room was well designed and comfortable. There is a lovely stream on property as well. These are the pros to this property. ||I had expected well appointed rooms with amenities, perhaps a gym, sauna, even an espresso kiosk or cafe in or nearby. |The door to my room was extremely narrow approximately 24" like a small closet door. If you are a person of any proportions it would be a challenge to get into the room. There were several steps down into the small underlit room. So no mobility restricted guests should go here. No dresser, no art, no television and no view. The single window had blinds that malfunctioned. The bath fan rattled loudly and since attached to the light switch it was quiet and dark or light and noisy. I brought it to the attention of management but noting was done. |There were no vending machines of any kind nor fridge. One had to bring your own beverages (except water from the tap)|This is a good fit for someone wanting time to reflect on life, is a reader preclude. The closest cafe was town, some distance away on a rural road at a painful 35mph. |I would NOT recommend this for anyone seeking a relaxing, elegant or...
Read moreWe loved this place! We went backcountry hiking and it was close to the trailhead. I had low expectations based on other hotels we've stayed in near trailheads, but we were pleasantly surprised when we showed up. The photos don't do it justice. It looked like a kitschy little place that would serve it's purpose as a meeting place. But it was actually very clean and cool. It's a 1970s ski lodge and all of the rooms are arranged around a sunken couch with a huge central open fireplace/chimney and adjacent small bar. There are a couple of game rooms with foosball, pool, shuffleboard and table tennis. The rooms had updated bathroom areas and the beds were incredibly comfortable. There are large shelves in the rooms for a closet area that worked great to organize our gear the night before heading out on the trail. Breakfast in the morning was a great addition and the coffee was strikingly good. The owners gave a tour when we checked in and Dave was really knowledgeable about the trails in the area. Also, they rent bear spray if you need. I would love to make another large family trip to Alta in the winter just to hang out in the lodge for...
