We were on a Texas road trip in the Hill Country for our 25th wedding anniversary. We selected this place to stay. It offered close proximity to what we had planned to see and do. It was a great location. |We were the only ones on the property during our stay. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable except for the bed. The cabin was clean.|The grounds had a covered area to sit as well as grilles to cook on. A Corn Hole set up was in our room if we wanted to play outside. A fire pit with chairs were outside on the proper. We were staying for 3 nights and were only given 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and 2 facecloths. I had to reach out to get more and they did leave us more. There was no bathmat for the shower except a rug in the bathroom. The towels were fluffy and smelled wonderful. A very nice touch. The toiletries were lovely. No "Kleenex" tissue was in the room. I did have some with me, but that would have been a nice touch.|Negatives: no bottled water in the refrigerator. Coffee maker made weak coffee. We ended up buying coffee at Mazama in Dripping Springs. Liquid creamer is a nicer touch than dry, packaged creamer. No microwave in the room. Mattress was hard and lumpy in places. Onion Creek was bone dry as there is a drought in the Hill Country. It was also very hot on our visit. |This was not a B & B but would be a nice touch to perhaps offer this amenity...
Read moreLooks cute on the surface... but owners have given up. It's just dirty. Coffee pot was filled with moldy water (in the reservoir tank) as it was broken. When reported, they said sorry, but did nothing about (via email). Stains on the curtains, towels and sheets. Dead bugs on the window frames (yes, inside). I understand a bit of surface dust on the furniture, but it looked like no one bothered to scrub a thing in months. Trash left on the side of the cabin, including a full six pack of bud light... the problem is, there's no onsite management or maintenance team. But they are very clear about not getting there early and have explicit directions for the guests... It's clear this started out with a positive vibe. Looks like it was a fun place, once... its dead now. Rusty and Crusty would be more appropriate description. I mean really, run a swiffer mop under the bed. Dust off the windows. Kill the wasp nests on the porch. Wipe down the furniture. And replace the coffee maker with the k-cup single serve... its not hard if you care and pay...
Read moreLoved our little cabin, it was so very clean and decorated so cute! The cabins are in a quiet location but close to everything. We were the only ones there the weekend we stayed so we had the whole place to ourselves! We played cornhole and built a fire in the large fire pit. There are little trails on the property which was nice and there is a tasting right up the road within walking distance. We enjoyed sitting outside on the porch and rocking in the rocking chairs, so peaceful. ||Things to be aware of - we were surprised to walk down to the creek and see a dry creek bed, there is no water whatsoever so that was a bummer. The bed was very comfortable however it’s pretty squeeky (stayed in My Humble Abode). Not that we are here to watch TV, but most of the TV channels were fuzzy. There’s an antenna in the room, maybe we should have adjusted it. Other thing to be aware of is there is not an actual door to the bathroom, just a curtain. But the shower is nice and has great water pressure. ||Overall, we enjoyed our stay just wish the creek...
