DEER MOUNTAIN LODGE & WILDERNESS RESORT — Hotel in Dummer

Innkeepers were helpful and cordial, breakfast was wonderful and the family table allowed us to visit easily with other guests. The setting is beautiful. ||||I would have liked to have a place to read a book. The common living room is huge and has a real hunting lodge feel. Lots of cozy furniture.however, there were no lights in room that would allow for reading. ||||The guest rooms are very, very small and filled with antique wilderness decor, which greatly reduces room for guest to put any of their luggage out. No end table or reading light on my side of bed, no shelf, hook or surface for my toiletries in bathroom (I kept my bag on floor). No toiletries supplied but one small bar of soap, no hair dryer, no cup, no room to put a suitcase out on floor, no rack or surfaces for luggage (I put mine under the bed). We rented out the whole lodge and property for the weekend with family. The lodge was beautiful and rustic, and had all the old fashioned antiques and hunting decor you would expect. My nieces enjoyed the bunk room that had custom built full-sized bunks and the teenagers enjoyed the lower level with their own separate hangout room. Each room had its own theme and we loved that each room had its own bathroom. The grounds were beautiful with a lovely sitting area as well as tons of picnic tables for everyone to enjoy the food. The||Owners accommodated our needs/requests and we had a wonderful breakfast all-together before we left and they had a beautifully large dining room/table enough for us all. They provided such a home atmosphere. very welcoming. even more so cause we were so last minute in contacting them. Great spot to bring family and friends. My Girlfriend and our friends loved it. we were there saturday night into sunday 8/7/21-8/8/21. Rooms were spotless clean. own bathroom in each room with own shower. also they were up early ready to make breakfast for everyone there. eggs hashbrowns the works... They also have trails for atvs, huge land with dogs and chickens and roosters... My Girlfriend and I go away a lot and try to find low cost hotels... she said that this place made her feel the safest she has ever felt in a hotel stay environment. We got in late after a full day of fun and they were even willing to make us sandwiches at midnight. easy 5 star rating here and we will defintely be coming back again...
