We were 1000% spoiled to have found this park and had the chance to stay at Whispering Winds RV park. You truly could not ask for better hosts. Shari and Don were so attentive and take excellent care of the park. They are there several times a week making sure everything is in order. I had a unique situation that we needed two spots for our 5th wheel as well as my daughter's camper and Shari worked her magic and got us both situated as close to each other as possible. We ended up with just one camper between us... and it was perfect. This park is truly a surprise, it's tucked off the main highway in a quiet area in Lyman. There is very little traffic noise, its there but its in the distance as well as the daily train horn... its there, its quite a ways away and not bothersome at all. There is a laundry room at the park which is always clean and fresh and I only had to wait once in 4 months to use the machines. All of the residents of the park are quiet and clean. It's a lovely atmosphere. There is also WiFi throughout the campground. It's actually pretty decent. Enough to do my emails and computer work and enough to stream a tv show. It cuts in and out from time to time, but it's included in the price of the lot, and you cant ask for much more than that. By far, my favorite thing about the park is the little walking trail that connects from the end/top of the park and winds behind all the campers, connects to a dog park, drops back down behind the next row of campers and then connects again at the main road entering into the park as well as the second dog park. The trail is about a quarter mile one direction, so we would walk every single day with our pugs through the trail and back which was a half a mile a day. It was perfect. The pugs loved walking through the trail, it was the highlight of their day for sure. We were very diligent about picking up our pets waste, unfortunately there were a few times we came across others waste, but it started to improve the longer we were there. Just please do everyone around you a favor and always pick up your pets waste. Even when it's slightly off trail... just pick it up. It keeps the area safe and clean. Which is something we really loved about this park. We are now at an another park down in Georgia for about 3 months and I can say I already miss being at Whispering Winds. It truly is a gem. We even got to drive through many other parks around the area and again, we were so lucky to have stayed at this park. It's a hidden gem and I give it a 5 out of 5 stars in every way!!!

Five stars! Our experience from start to finish was simply a pleasure. The owners Don and Shari were fantastic, accommodating and just plain hospitable. The Whispering Winds RV park is well kept, offers easy access, and has a great laundry facility to boot. Our evenings were quiet and the days were pleasant. Two dog parks were clean, nice walking trails and friendly neighbors makes this park an easy win. Shari worked diligently to get us a space when needed. It’s a popular park and stays filled as a result. The prices are fair when balanced with quality and value. Shari and Don also were very helpful with local knowledge tips as we were from out of state. We’d definitely return!

New to the area, my partner and I stayed at Whispering Winds for about 3 months while we looked for a home in Greenville. We had such a wonderful experience, and we were sad to leave! Our neighbors were friendly, there is a private hiking path through the campground, and even 2 dog parks! It’s close to Spartanburg, Greer, and Greenville but still feels private and remote. We feel very fortunate we were able to secure a spot there even if it wasn’t for too long, and I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a long term spot for your camper or RV!

We did not have a great experience at this park. We have been fulltime traveling in our RV for 2 years. We have been from South Carolina to California twice, stayed at many RV parks in our time traveling and we've only stayed at one other RV park this horribly set up. First the google address takes you to the trailer park one road over. We arrived after dark and had to turn our camper around at the dead end where the trailers are literally right on the road so it is a very, very tight fit if you find yourself on that road due to following that address. There is no way they do not know this and they did not warn us prior to arriving. Second issue is the water hook up is under ground. The spot they gave us was on a huge drop off. With the water hook up just a foot away from the edge where you have to reach down underground to hook your water up. Never seen water set up this way. We had planned to leave after 2 nights but decided to extend our stay one more day - we have family 5 min down the road - and are about to be up north for 6 mos. We left for lunch with our family and got a text message that we needed to be out of our spot within 30 min. We text back asking if we could extend our stay one more night and were told no because we broke rules...we had over the number of cars - we were asked when we made the reservation how many vehicles and we told them how many would be there so this should have been a non issue. Then she said we were loud during quite hours which is also untrue - other than going to our cars there was no noise made after 11pm. My son & husband were playing a competitive game and were taunting & celebrating at NOON right before we left to go get lunch. As soon as she said "the amount of noise was concerning" we knew exactly what she was talking about. So theres no having fun with your children at this park. We used to live in Lyman for 15 years. Edward's Rd is a terrible road for an RV park. The road to turn out of the RV park is in a blind spot. It is a very windy narrow road. And this park is like slapping make up on a pig. They carved out some land up on a hill, threw some gravel & pavers on it and called it good. This isnt an RV park, it's a place to park your RV. The pictures they have on here are very deceiving. ** Luckily we took pictures from all angles before we left. Look at our picture of our truck and camper. This is right before we pulled out. Our cars did not damage their landscape. Nor were they ever parked IN their landscaping. You would see tire tracks in our pictures. You dont see them because this is again another false accusation to make them feel better about their actions. ** We followed Google Maps. Clicked the address from googling the name of the park. ** We have been up north, Nor Cal, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and now in Indiana. Not a one has under ground water. A bit more research and thought should have went into it. ** Our travels have left us needing extra days in parks often on very last minute bases. We have never, until using your business, had an issue staying an extra day - before, during or after check out times. We have been in a LOT closer spaces to other RV'ers (where our vehicles wouldnt fit even in between) and again never, until using your business, had an issue with noise. IN 2 YEARS. And again, if closing a car door is considered too loud that's ridiculous. I wish you well with this business adventure but I sure hope you decide to ditch the extremely judgemental way you run it or I do not see you doing well in the long run with...

Just some cleared out land with hookups for an RV. Owners are not truthful and very judgmental. I was told only newer RVs were welcomed. Being a part of multiple RV communities, I should have known when I heard the ā€œonly Newer RVsā€ comment was made that this was gonna be a bad experience. It’s usually the first cop out of judgmental owners. First place to ever ask for a picture of my RV before a reservation could be made. Yet place me beside an old RV with a bag over their window, which happened to be an older RV. I happen to have a newer RV, however not everyone has the means to meet this requirement which also goes to show that this park is only in it for the money.

Then twisted the truth of ā€œquiet timeā€ disturbance by saying our loudness was of concern yet this was during the day and not during the 11PM quiet period. My son and I are competitive when playing games and typical father/son trash talk can get a little loud. But this was during the day!! Not night. But I guess it’s ok for the trash removal company to show up at 3AM and empty dumpsters, just don’t snore in your camper lol.

Space is also of concern. If you have a setup like me with a 37 foot pull behind with a F250 or 2500 size truck, forget trying to park in some of these spots as the areas are so tight to maneuver that you will go of the main road or potentially off a small cliff if you make the wrong move.

Water connection is the first I have seen to be underground, surrounded by rocks, which makes it harder to get in a position to connect. WiFi was awful, but didn’t expect anything better.

I told them I had 2 vehicles with a potential 3rd coming which would be my 16 year old coming to visit. At the time of the reservation, this was no issue, however, one of the ā€œviolation of park rulesā€ was to many vehicles. When you are told this will be fine then told we broke the rules, it’s just contradictory to your prestige as a park owner.

Overall, this experience has left a very sour taste. I can reference nearly 10 RV parks who would welcome me back and stand by me when they say we are a joy to have. steer clear!!! This is in no comparison to a KOA, Good Sam, Thousand Trails type of place. This is a backwoods, cheaply done setup for an RVer and if you are looking long term, be aware of ownership and their little games of deceit. Whispering winds?! More like run for...
