Country Sunshine Bed and Breakfast is one of the best places we have stayed while travelling. This B&B offers a peaceful retreat with breathtaking views, warm hospitality, and thoughtful touches throughout. Jodi and Walter are THE nicest people you'll ever meet. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel like family. Their genuine kindness, attention to detail, and warmth helped make our stay truly memorable. Sunny, the dog is very friendly and playful, and spending time with him, petting and taking pictures, was one of the highlights of our stay.
The lodge itself is cozy, clean, and full of charm—every room feels like it has a story, and the large windows bring the outdoors in. The breakfast deserves its own 5-star rating. Each morning was a new gourmet delight, made with fresh ingredients and served with care. Their love for this place and for hosting shines through in every interaction. They’ve thought of everything to make guests feel at home - All amenities are top notch. Whether you’re watching hummingbirds from the deck, enjoying a soak under the stars, or simply relaxing in the common areas with a good book, this place has a way of making you slow down and savor the moment. If you're looking for a serene getaway with mountain charm, personal touches, and some of the best hospitality around, Country Sunshine B&B is the place. We can’t...
Read moreThis is where my family and I have stayed now both times we’ve visited Durango. I won’t ever even consider staying anywhere else. Walter and Jodi, owners of the B&B, are true gems. Their kindness, helpfulness, and top-notch customer service speaks for itself through your encounters with them. I have one cool memory of this last trip where Jodi was asking what we had planned for the day. We told her we were going on a hike to see the Falls Creek Waterfall. “Wait here”, she said. Moments later approaching us with not only one, but four cans of bear spray. “You won’t need these, but better to be safe”. This may seem like a small, insignificant gesture, but it’s not to me, and not to my family.
Their love for hospitality extends to the beautiful home and six rooms that they have ready for you to rent for your stay. The grounds are perfectly kept, and hammocks, fire pit, balcony and patio overlooking the San Juan Mountains, along with an array of different species of birds greeting your time outside are among the many beautiful things you will find here. They serve breakfast every morning at 7:30AM consisting of fresh fruit, muffins, pastries, fresh eggs, coffee and juice. Walter and Jodi ensure that the around the clock fresh chocolate chip cookies never run out either. Again, a gem of a place, and...
