I've read countless reviews that talk about how wonderful places are but I generally find more value in the content of the lower rated reviews because they are less "Pollyanna". The problem with this place is that there weren't many less that excellent reviews (no poor ones) and I tend to believe if things are too good to be true, they generally are. We traveled a long way from Louisiana for this trip and for some reason I took the chance that my skepticism would be misguided. What an excellent decision that ended up being. This place was absolutely amazing!|I am a designer by education so I tend to be a little on the critical side when it comes to the execution of an aesthetic decision. Let's face it, if log cabins aren't your thing, you're not looking to stay here in the first place. But if it is, you will find a 100% commitment to creating the a luxury retreat with an unbelievable attention to detail with the highest quality at every turn. It is, in a word, impressive.|We stayed two nights and the second night we were the only ones staying there so we were able to see every room. The photos just don't do any of them justice. We stayed in the Creel Room and everything from the bed to the private balcony to the double-showerhead steam shower was without flaw. The common areas were absolutely as comfortable as they could be. The view from the front porch in the evening with a bottle of wine is an absolute must-do experience.|As for the proprietors who created this place, they are two really great guys. They make you feel like you're just a friend hanging out with them in their home... and one of the friends makes you an amazing breakfast. They are just two people who found a way to live their dream and we were very lucky they were willing to share it with us.|Thank you Greg and Willie for a fantastic experience and if we ever make it back up there again, I promise you I'm stopping by to sit on that front porch with a bottle of wine even if there are no...
Read moreThis was our first time staying in a B&B, and we were a little nervous it might feel uncomfortable being a guest in someone's "home." Greg & Willie are the perfect hosts! Immediately we felt at ease and left feeling like we gained 2 friends. Due to Covid concerns we were looking for a low key, relaxing cozy vacation. I honestly don't think we could have dreamt up a more charming, beautiful place to stay. The home is beyond gorgeous and impeccably maintained. The rooms are spacious with large closets. We stayed in the sled room which had a steam shower, heated floors (amazing after a day out in the snow!) a balcony overlooking the meadow and a very comfortable king size bed. The home itself has highspeed WiFi, a TV in the great room with all the streaming apps, 2 fireplaces, a gigantic deck off the front overlooking the mountains, and the kitchen has all of the cutlery, plates, cups etc. that you could need along with access to a large fridge for food & amazing VT beer! Snowshoes are available to use as well. There is a great hiking trail that leads up to the Sky Loft which has amazing views and on the way down we took the other route and went through the sugar bush where maple syrup is harvested. Each morning breakfast was included and it is topnotch!!! Willie is such a great cook...I actually would consider him a chef. I have a food intolerance and Willie was accommodating with his recipes. In the area there is quite a bit to do within 15 minutes. Waterbury is about 10 minutes down the road. It is a great halfway point between Stowe & Sugarbush. We skied at Sugarbush & went snowshoeing in Stowe. Can't say enough good things about Moose Meadow Lodge and we already can't wait...
