My husband and I stayed at Ponderosa Pines September 2021 in a full-service, pull-through site near the bay. You should plan to eat at home. There aren’t many restaurants nearby, but the park store had a good supply of food items like bacon, eggs, milk, juices, hotdogs, s’mores supplies……and other items campers might need. The owner was very nice and full of good information. The park is only a mile from Hopewell Rocks! It’s so close that after check-in we set up camp and went into the park at about 4:30 pm (free)to see high tide and then came back the next morning (buying tickets) to see low-tide. We joined a park ranger for a guided tour and spent about 3 hours roaming the beach. Then we came “home” ate, relaxed and went back to watch the tide come in and flood the beach we had just spent the day walking on! Ponderosa Pines has miles of wonderful walking trails on the property too and we just loved this park. People have different things they want out of RV parks. This one is peaceful, full of natural beauty and the full-hookups I want. We are full-time RVers and this is one of my top 10 favorite...
Read morePonderosa Pines Family Campground is a charming, rustic spot that gave me all the nostalgic ’90s campground vibes, in the best way! It’s cozy, peaceful, and has that laid back atmosphere you don’t find in bigger, modern resorts.
We stayed in one of the cabins and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was for our family of 7. The loft was a huge hit with the kids! While the sites are on the smaller side, we never felt cramped, and the layout still felt comfortable and family-friendly.
The pool was clean and refreshing, a great way to cool off during the day. The little on site store itself was convenient, and the real star? Their friendly resident cat who loves attention and happily greets everyone who stops by! My kids wanted to keep going back to the store to pet her!
If you’re looking for a simple, relaxed camping experience with a bit of old-school charm, Ponderosa Pines fits the bill. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re in the...
Read moreMy family of 4 stayed here for the memorial day weekend, and overall we had a fantastic trip. Fran the owner was incredibly helpful - lending us a coffee cup, and little odds and ends that my kids needed during our stay. Fun activities were organized throughout the weekend (field day, fishing derby, mini put, fire truck rides), with lots of things for various ages to enjoy. My kids met loads of new friends, and everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The fishing was spot on, and the weather was a mix of rain and sunshine. There is no wifi - but i considered that a plus... at one point i found my kids had left all the electronics lined up on the counter of my camper, and gone to play basketball - without being asked. The showers were both clean and hot, with lots of privacy (locking stalls).||||You know its a keeper when your oldest anti-camper child begs you to come back next year. We can't...
