This is our first time in the UP. We didn’t know what to expect, but we found Dapple Gray and the experience made our stay remarkable. We also were searching for a B&B that would welcome our 15lbs rat terrier and they couldn’t have been more accommodating.
Ruth, Ole and Abe made us feel like family. They were amazing hostesses.
From the old decor to the donkeys in the stable the Dapple Gray is full of unique experiences.
We came in the middle of February and the weather was balmy to say the least. The town was full of snowmobilers but the folks at Dapple Gray provided us with many options for navigating Copper Harbor.
Ole was kind enough to share his snowshoes with us, which gave us the opportunity to explore the trails on the property as well as around the peninsula.
In the morning, Ruth made us an amazing Egg Benedict while creating memorable conversation throughout the weekend. At night, Abe made us a fire while we drank local beer and enjoyed the ambience.
Our expectations were exceeded and we’re looking forward to returning in the...
Read moreWhat a Delightful couple and Beautiful Log Cabin!! If you Love Antiques and are looking for a Quiet, Country, Back Woods stay with a Beautiful view of Lake Superior, Dapple Gray B&B and Antiques is the place. Ole and Ruth made sure everything was perfect. We stayed 2 nights. 1st night in the Americana on the 1st floor. 2nd night in North Woods on the 2nd floor. Both had nice private baths and deck area overlooking Lake Superior. The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Sunsets were amazing. Didn’t see any Northern Lights, Moose or Deer, ☹️ but 3 Donkeys greeted us when we were leaving and returning from our adventures. We didn’t use it, but a sauna was available. The breakfast and coffee was delicious and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests and Ole and Ruth. If we ever return to the Keweenaw Peninsula we will definitely stay here again. We will highly recommend this B&B to our friends and family. Thank you Ole, Ruth and Abe for a...
Read moreNice B&B just outside Copper Harbor. Only four rooms, each with a theme. We were in the sea shell room which was large and on the second floor and had two std beds. The second floor is a bit quieter because the floors squeak. Two other first floor rooms have a single standard bed. The other second floor room has a single queen and has a wild animal theme with some wall mounts. All the rooms were furnished in antiques even the small TVs. The whole lodge was also furnished in antiques. A bit too much for my taste.||The lodge was well maintained inside and out and managed/maintained by the owners Oli, Ruth and there son Abe who all lived in the B&B. I got to spend some quality time with Oli because he and I are early birds and we chatted quite a bit while he was preparing a satisfying breakfast. ||The WiFi was pretty bad and we had to go into the kitchen to get connected. They are trying to get it fixed. No cell service at the...
