Lakemore Resort — Hotel in East Bay Township

My entire family ranging from 4 months old to 65 years old vacationed at Lakemore Retreat. We had the pleasure of renting the entire Retreat which included The Cabin, Cottage and Lodge so we enjoyed the gorgeous view of Arbutus Lake from all angles and all 3 homes were very well kept, and supplied with anything you would ever need to vacation with; from S’more sticks and lighters to all kitchen supplies, bathroom soaps/shampoos to linens and beach towels. The Retreat is placed wonderfully on the lake to where you get to see the sunset every night and it also gives the beach extra warmth after dinner for the kids to take a little swim with the sun shining on you. When you read “luxury” in the listing, they truly mean it. We can not express how wonderful all of the accommodations were. Having small children on this vacation was not a hiccup at all because they went above and beyond providing pack-n-plays all set up and ready the moment you walked in the door, high chairs and they even had baby toys. Tricia and her staff were super helpful, kind and welcoming. Any questions my family had they were quick to respond. Staff members would come in the morning to make sure the grounds were as gorgeous as the day we arrived and were quick, quiet and super friendly. We honestly were halfway into our vacation and ready to book again! If you are looking for a wonderful place that is just steps away from the beachfront to the lake, this is the place to be. From the moment we arrived and drove down the hill until we closed the garage and said our final goodbye, The Cottage was nothing short of perfection for a group of moms in need of a weekend away! The close proximity to the hustle and bustle of Traverse City made it incredibly easy to hit up the spa, order dinner, and enjoy wine tours. The home itself was perfectly suited for a large group of adults (which means it would also be perfect for kids!). Every detail was thought of in this place and it truly felt like a home away from home. The entire home is absolutely gorgeous inside and the views of the water simply add more beauty to the space. We had more than enough room to sleep 9 adults and the amount of bathrooms met our needs as well. The living areas were spacious and comfy and allowed us the opportunity to spend time together and unwind all weekend. The beautiful mudroom on the lower level, fully equipped with beach towels for all, lead to an amazing outdoor area and fantastic hot tub! Staying at Lakemore was the perfect way to experience the grand traverse area. You’re only 15 minutes from town and anything you want to do while also having a luxury home accommodation on beautiful Arbutus Lake. The water temperature was so nice, and you also had a giant hot tub to relax in while you cook you dinner on the bbq. The kitchens had everything you could want for home cooking or if you were bringing back take out. A+++ to everyone at Lakemore!

UPDATE FOR 2024:

We stayed at Lakemore for our second consecutive summer, this time with 48 of our closest friends and family and it was a massive hit!

We wanted to give out people amazing place to stay and it couldn’t have been better. Strangers became friends, family bonded even closer, and everyone left relaxed and recharged.

We had amazing cookouts most nights, spent hours on the water enjoying amazing Arbutus lake, hot tubbed until the early hours, had too many kids movie nights and sleepovers to count, and now have so many new Michigan coverts that will definitely be coming back for years to come.
