Visited over Memorial weekend with 4 generations in my family. Stayed in “The Views” which sleeps 4-6 people. In our place it was myself, husband and 82 year old Mom. The adjoining room also “The Views” is where my daughter, son in law and 4 kids stayed. Our other daughter’s family of 4 stayed in “The Maples”. All of the places were great. Very clean and had everything we needed. Full kitchen was nice as we all ate together. We used the charcoal grill for some meals. They have DVD players so at the end of the day the kids had movie night. Nice beach area and the kids loved using the playaks, paddle boards, and kayaks which were right outside our back door. We could literally sit on our deck and watch them. They have several spots to build a camp fire (which included the wood and paper). We played volleyball, tennis and basketball. The pools are nice as is the hot tub. The only problem we had is that we wanted to stay longer but had to get the kids back to school…..everyone in our group loved our time at Kavanaugh’s including my Mom. Created some wonderful memories and look forward to going back. Thank you Kavanaugh’s for a...

Fantastic family resort, we all agreed this is our favorite and will be coming back next year. Me and my family stayed here for the July 4th weekend, and had so much fun. This place is perfect for an in-between resort and cabin setting. So many amenities: 2 lakefront swim areas, a decently sized outdoor pool that goes about 4’6” (a guess I don’t remember) although it does go deeper in the middle and shallower in both ends which really threw me off. Indoor pool (pretty small) and hot tub, small fitness center, tiny arcade but has a pool table, little store for necessities, free playaks (small kayaks), paddle boards kayaks and boats for rent, basketball court, tennis court, sand volleyball, loungers on the beaches... yeah they have pretty much everything. Rental/doc people were super helpful and friendly! We loved our room/half house and small deck with the lake view which was great to wake up to. Easy check in and check out. Overall had an amazing stay and would HIGHLY recommend this for people who want the cabin feel with the...

Kavanaugh's is a resort in Brainard, MN where you can rent out cabins of different sizes for overnight stay. Kavanaugh's is on Lake Sylvan which is the clearest lake I know of! Kavanaugh's has an indoor and outdoor pool and a large indoor hot tub. You can rent pontoons and fishing boats, kayaks, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards and more! There are 2 beaches with swimming access, docks to jump off and floating islands and more. There's a sand volleyball court, tennis and basketball court, all with balls to play with. Kavanaugh's cabins are privately owned, maintained by the original Kavanaugh's family. Many cabins are still for sale. The grounds and facilities are well maintained. I'd go no where else for a quiet week relaxing and playing with...

We found Kavanaugh's in 2019 when we were looking for a resort/cabin lake front experience, but didn't want to pay for a golf course, restaurant, and resort fees like some other places in the area we'd visited. The Oaks cabins fit our needs for a week and give us a great home base to relax and enjoy a deck overlooking the lake, or to go touring around the area and visiting family as my husband grew up in the area. I like the fireplace, kitchen, two bathrooms, and king sized bed. The cabin is very roomy for two people and since we've found this place in 2019, have returned 9 times, both in summer and winter. Always enjoy the sunsets and all the wildlife. Very happy to see a second treadmill in the workout room this year.

This is a super chill relaxing resort to vacation. You can rent pontoon boats, small fishing boats, paddle boards, and bicycles. They have free kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, row boats, tennis courts, basketball court with all the balls, lifejackets and about everything else you may need. They have tons of lake access right in front of most of the cabins, a indoor and outdoor pool. The owners are super friendly and are often seen hosting different events throughout the week like the rubber ducky races which is a blast and a cookout. The cabins are very nice, clean and updated. We will definitely be coming back again.
