Communication The website and your emails say check in is 4pm. On arrival the information sheet says 3pm. I emailed the address in the body of the message I received (being careful to NOT use the noreply address from which the message was sent) with the information you requested and received no reply. The morning of our departure I received a text at 9am reminding me of the 11am check out – not the 2pm late check-out to which you had agreed. When I responded, reminding of the late check-out “Summer” apologized for the confusion and noted “those messages are automated.” I find this unacceptable given your texts are all “signed” and the check-out reminder was signed by “Ryan.”

Noise Your materials are quite clear regarding being respectful to others with music, noise levels, etc. We intentionally did not bring or plan for music, etc. so we could enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. The neighboring site, however, did not feel the need to be equally respectful. We reached out to you about this at 8:46pm and you responded at 8:48pm stating “I’ll head over and have a talk with them.” We know you did not do this and there was no change in the noise. We followed up at 9:27pm and only after this second outreach did someone arrive at the neighboring site to address the issue, some 45 minutes after you claimed you would go in person to address it.

Security/Cabin Access The access code in the text message did not work to access our cabin. I had to call and have a staff member reset it. The access code to lock the cabin at check out did not work. What is the most concerning, after check-in we left to explore the local area. Only on our return did we notice that the lock box attached to the cabin was not secure, and in fact the key to the cabin was resting on the light on the side of the cabin – where anyone could have taken it and accessed the cabin and our belongings. This is a major security lapse and completely unacceptable. I put the key in the cabin during our stay and returned it to where we found it on departure. I’m sure your staff found it unsecure when they came to clean, though it wouldn’t have been needed since the code to lock the cabin didn’t work either.

“Destination Fee” Nonsense While I understand the industry uses these nonsense fees, you claim to offer benefits of what I can only describe as a money grab. Note you failed to deliver on several benefits, and were we to have notice on arrival I would have reached out. There was no “s’mores kit.” We discovered this about 10pm and elected not to reach out given the poor handling of the noise issue. There were no bottles of water. We discovered this in the morning when we went to have some water and, given we were leaving, our stay had been so negative what was the point. It was yet another failure we uncovered.

Other About 10pm after the noise issue and discovering the lack of s’mores kit we were trying to enjoy the last of the campfire in peace when the distinct smell of weed spread across the site. At this point we were so frustrated with all that happened, and the lack of care we were experiencing from the property that we just extinguished the fire and went to bed. It was clear this was not going to be a relaxing...

I should have stayed more than one night. It was just enough time for me to realize that I was nit-picking over their unstocked toilet paper and supplies. And, to take note of my own cell phone addiction, with a now lost connection. But I couldn't help but appreciate the little cabin. I always wanted one. Here, at least, I could rent one. I also liked the design. Particularly, the reading lights set in the wall. And, the fully charged lantern, which gave off a glamp glow. Additionally, the lantern made a great marker to help me easily recognize my cabin, on the way back from walking in the dark. Though it wasn't a well-planned stay, I set off into the night, where I was met by the wild sounds of two barn owls. I came to a clearing and sat staring up at an orange moon. Unlike other night walks where I have fear, there was something about the cabins around that gave me a sense of security. They were far enough away for a true wilderness privacy, yet close enough for a distant connection. And, of course, there were no street lights. It was a dark starry sky amidst tall trees. I also appreciate the diversity of people that it brings in. Similar to a national park experience. And, after I came back for a cooled off air condition break, I set out again. This time, I walked the nature trail, which was truly a nice touch to the design of the place. Well marked, too, for very easy access. Besides the sound of bull frogs in the wet land area, they had little reflectors lighting the path. Again, instead of my typical night walk concerns, here it felt anticipated that, of course, I would want to go on a little excursion into the night. I slept well! (Though, I had no idea how to turn off the little light in the cabin.) Several moments, silence fell like it was a calling to myself. Upon morning, a before caffeine fog, my normal dread and worries relaxed in front of a large private glass view to the woods. I lay there for an hour, taking in the sun, before I sat outside with my breakfast. I'll admit, it was nice. Perfect Adirondack chairs, and pick nick table. You might as well bring food to grill over an open fire, because they have one. And, a shower too. Before I packed and left, I took one last nature trail walk, this time in the morning sun. Thanks for adding to my love of summer. And, for helping me...

1First off, I'm not sure the picture i had in mind but boy was i glad to know my neighbors were close by. The cabin is in the woods, no kidding. We got Adrianne and i was not enthused that we had to haul our luggage quite a distance away from the cabin. Pls create a driveway as close to the cabin like some of the other cabins ie Agu. The room was too small for a famiky of 4 with an average height of 5.5feet. The top bed can come down a bit to make up for height difference. In our case or just get 2 cabins so we get 2 down beds. The bathroom was our favorite. It was perfect but could use a handheld shower head as well especially for girls to be able to wash well ( if you know what I mean). Thank you for the logs of firewood. The fireplace was my husband's favorite.

The utensils and plates and cups were nice. We were missing 1 cup though. No biggy, I bought paper cups from the gas station. I also loved that everything was within 1 to 2 Mike drive away from the cabin so we got paper plates, cups, cough meds for the little one, bread, eggs, icecream ( don't leave without trying the Moodus icecream), we went back 2x. Things add up quickly so bring as much stuff that makes you comfortable. If you don't like the woody smell of the cabin, bring your favorite eirfreshner. I wish it had a microwave. It was the only detail missing but I had a frying pan with me and used that to heat up food. It should be light enough especially if you get there late at night like we did. Thank you fir fresh towels and taking care of our trash. It was a bit cold though we are still in August so ghave a sweater on hand, better you have it n not use it than, need it and not have one. If you don't like the bathing soap smell, bring your own. I had a bar soap which was helpful for me because I didn't like the one there. Bring your favorite blanket and pillows , I was more comfortable because I had mine over the cabins own. They have sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil and milk. Anything else for food, bring yours. Or eat put and just come to the cabin to sleep. But that can...
