Cozy Corners Campground — Hotel in Eden Lake Township

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF RESERVATIONS HERE – MAKE SURE YOU READ AND THINK TWICE - WORST EXPERIENCE AND OWNERS EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL. Typically, I don’t post reviews but my experience this past weekend at Cozy Corners Campground persuaded me to do so. This was actually the second time my family and I visited this campground the first time was ok, it was early this spring so it was a little cold but we made the best of it. They fail to mention to you that a majority of their weekend sites are wedged between the sewage dump and a large unmaintained green shed. So you can about image the smells we endured for the first weekend. Our next experience was this past weekend, there is one weekend sight that is away from the sewage and is between two seasonal sites which we reserved. My family and I arrived, checked in, asked if there was anything I need to know about the site, the owner said no and told me to head over there. We got setup, had dinner went out on the lake for a while. Everything was going well! When we got back, I had a note on our camper presumably from one of the seasonal patrons next door to move my truck and I did so. I finally got my one year old son to sleep, when my dad stopped over to tell me the grounds owner said I needed to move my camper tonight! Apparently, I was a foot across some invisible line from one of the other sites (would have been nice if someone would have told me that prior to set up, but apparently a weekend patron isn’t worth the time). So I went to the restaurant to talk with George the owner, I explained to him that I did not know where exactly the bounds were and asked if I could wait till morning to move. He said absolutely not, I said my son is sleeping, there are other cars around making it difficult to move and I was all setup. I proceeded to tell him if I hookup tonight we are going to leave and he said “fine, get the H#$@ out”. I couldn’t believe the lack of disrespect and unprofessionalism, in front of not only me but the rest of the people at the bar/restaurant. He was so irate I honestly thought he might try and take a swing. I went back and explained to my wife what had happened and we decided to pack up and leave at 10:00 at night. We were very frustrated and had 2 sad little boys to pack up! Needless to say we will not be back. I would strongly recommend anyone (seasonal or weekend) to look elsewhere if you want a positive camping experience. I also find it interesting that all of their negative reviews are based on their ownership and customer service. The weekend sites are just something to pad a rich owner’s wallet, nothing more. If you are a person who is looking for seasonal a campground on this chain of lakes; look into Your Haven Campground which is just up the road. My in-laws have a place here. We stay with them several weekend through the summer. Nice campground. Bar and Restaurant on the lake. Great Owner and Staff!!! I'd like to have a spot there in the future. Horseshoe chain of lakes has enough water for everyone. St Cloud is a 20 minute drive if you're bored or need a break from the lake. Continues to be a great place to enjoy the lake!
