Super 8 by Wyndham El Dorado — Hotel in El Dorado

I checked into a queen double suite. Upon arrival, the floor was riddled with stains. Upon entering the room, it was visible that it was properly cleaned: found 3 roaches (one under the sink, one near the bed in the far right of the room, and one in the corner of the room by the door)

mirror was stained

bathroom toilet has stains on the top and the seat and the inner bowl

the night stands were sticky and stained

the room smelled musty, wet damp smell

the bed cover was dirty, brown stains on the top sheet and cigarette holes in the top blanket

I went to the front desk to inform the clerk. She gave me a smaller room with double beds that also had visible stains on the night stands, food stains on the microwave and the frig, hair dryer was had a thick layer of lint and dirt and didn’t work, the toilet was dirty and had built up dirt around the toilet top.

I wet across the street to the gas station and bought pine sol cleaner, disinfectant spray, paper towels, and spent one hour cleaning the night stands, counter tops, sink, toilet top and bowl, mirrors, microwave, and frig, and the hair dryer with cord (even though it doesn’t work). I did this because it was 11:30 pm when I checked in and we drove 13 hours from Ohio in a snow storm to be in El Dorado for a funeral and we couldn’t get another hotel at this hour being that it is now 1:12 am in...

Location, great. Right off the highway.

Service, fairly good until the end.

Room, this is where it all goes to hell. 👇🏻

When you walk in, you get a slight odor that you would expect from second lowest price in town. The hallways are not vacuumed, again something you’d expect from the second lowest price in town. The rooms, fairly clean. Nothing that really says otherwise. The beds, not terrible. Fairly comfortable. Until, I woke up to something crawling on me. Woke up, grabbed my phone flashlight, and lone behold, a damn bed bug!!! Flew up out of the bed, packed my bags, and left. When I left, I told the front desk the room has bugs and she says, oh I’m sorry and wrote down the room number with the note ‘bugs’. That was it lol. No attempt to correct it (I mean, unless there is a refund, nothing was correcting this).

Anyway, I’d find another...

I think they must have new owners because we’ve stayed here before and it was well kept, nice and pretty reasonable; but this past weekend was terrible! We was first given a room on the second floor, and the minute we walked in it smelled stale and wet cigarettes. My wife immediately went downstairs to let them know and was issued a room on the first floor this time. It still smelled stale but not like cigarettes. The toilet was stopped up so we had to get a plunger from the front desk. Everything in the room looked old and rundown. The lamp shade was cracked and taped up, no coffee pot, the bathtub was unlevel with scuffs. I didn’t see any roaches (thank God!), but we definitely wi not be returning. I’d rather sleep in...
