Read moreWe absolutely loved our stay at Tipsinah Mounds! Admittedly, it was an unexpected stop for us as we were traveling to Glacier National Park, but well worth it!!!
While traveling in our RV, we had a flat tire on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. AAA roadside and every other roadside assistance were all unavailable.
My wife finally found Tipsinah Mounds campground after calling every other campground within a few miles and they had just had a last minute cancellation. Of course we booked, did a quick temp repair on the tire (wrapped the valve stem in gorilla tape) and backtracked 25 miles.
The campground is awesome! Super clean, great staff and we had a wonderful stay. Jeremiah, the park manager, and his family are all over any needs you may have and were always available when we needed them.
We were lakeside on the Pomme de Terre lake and rented the pontoon boat for the time we were there. Beautiful and very clear lake!
During our stay over Memorial Day weekend, the camp staff had arranged for the valve stem in our tire to be replaced and reinstalled. We were back up in running in a day, but we stayed the extra day to further enjoy the property and trails.
And try the pizza they serve…highly recommended. We were certainly lucky that they had availability, and even luckier that it was a wonderful property!!!
Thanks to all the staff at the campground!!! We truly appreciated...

Pros: family friendly, pet friendly, awesome swimming beach, clean shower/bath houses, great lake for boating fun (tubing, skiing), plenty of activities (basketball, playground, horse shoes, baseball/kickball field), plenty of shade and grass (as long as you're not "on the hill", no shade there or in the "V" sites, no grass there)
Cons: hard to get a seasonal/monthly site since it's so busy, sites are close together and the way they're set up it appears your campfire ring is on the property line of the site next to you in most cases (but everyone seems to adjust to it)...so really there aren't any cons when it comes to this campground
We started by staying here for just a weekend this summer and since COVID opened up our summer plans allowing us to spend more time camping we found a way to get a monthly site this summer. It's been a great summer here and would love to find a seasonal or monthly site, but as I mentioned earlier, that's nearly impossible for next year.
Highly recommend this campground for all types of campers (RV, travel...
